Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de polymérisation d'éthylène, un catalyseur employé dans ce procédé, un procédé de fabrication employant le catalyseur et un produit fabriqué au moyen du procédé. L'invention concerne plus particulièrement un procédé de fabrication d'un copolymère d'éthylène à partir d'éthylène et d'un comonomère d'alpha-oléfine, le copolymère d'éthylène fabriqué ayant une distribution de masse moléculaire multimodale, une excellent aptitude au traitement, d'excellentes propriétés physiques et pouvant par conséquent augmenter la valeur et la productivité de produits tels que des tubes et des pellicules. Le copolymère d'éthylène fabriqué a une distribution de masse moléculaire ou de densité au moins trimodale. Par conséquent, lorsque le copolymère fabriqué est un copolymère linéaire faible densité, celui-ci permet d'augmenter considérablement la résistance aux impacts de pellicules, et lorsque le copolymère fabriqué est un copolymère d'éthylène moyenne densité, celui-ci peut être fabriqué sous forme de tubes présentant une faible vitesse de propagation de fissures et pouvant être employés à des températures élevées.
