Abstract

 従来触媒の限界であるHg酸化とSO2酸化の二律背反的な関係を崩し、Hg酸化率を高く維持しながら、SO2酸化率のみを低減した排ガス浄化触媒を提供する。  (i)チタン(Ti)、(ii)モリブデン(Mo)及び/またはタングステン(W)、(iii)バナジウム(V)、及び(iv)リン(P)の各酸化物からなる組成物であって、Ti:(Mo及び/またはW):Vの原子比が85~97.5:2~10:0.5~10であり、かつP/(Mo及び/又はWとVとの総和)原子比が0.5~1.5である排ガス浄化用触媒、および窒素酸化物(NOx)および金属水銀(Hg)を含む排ガスを還元剤としてアンモニア存在下に上記触媒と接触させ、排ガス中のNOxの還元及び/金属水銀(Hg)の酸化を行わせることを特徴とする排ガスの浄化方法。
