Abstract

 超硬合金は、硬度・高靭性の材料である。その性能を出すために様々な微量元素が添加されている。その一つが炭化バナジウム(VC)である。しかし、炭化物を粉砕した原料の粒径が大きいため、製品中の特性を均一に向上させることが出来なかった。  ホブ等の工具用素材の構成材料の一つを炭化物から酸化物の三酸化バナジウム(V2O3)に置き換えた。酸化バナジウムは、炭化バナジウムと比較して柔らかいため、原料調合中のボールミルでの混合工程で容易に微粒化する。これにより、原料中に均一分散した三酸化バナジウムの効果により、焼結後の超硬合金の硬度が高くなった。
