Abstract

 光情報記録媒体(200)は、再生光の入射側から順に、透光層(10)、第1情報記録層(20)、中間層(30)、第2情報記録層(40)及び基板(50)が積層された構造となっており、第1情報記録層(20)が情報を読み出すことのみ可能な層であり、第2情報記録層(40)が情報を書き換えることが可能な領域を含む層である。そして、第1情報記録層(20)は、透光性を有し、第1情報記録層(20)の再生光波長における反射率の値は、0.4%より大きく2.2%以下である。これにより、情報記録層数が少ない旧規格の光情報記録媒体に対応している駆動装置でも再生可能であり、旧規格の光情報記録媒体に再生専用層(ROM層)又は追記録層(R層)を追加することにより記録容量を向上させることが可能なハイブリッド光情報記録媒体を提供する。
