Abstract

 本発明の光ディスク装置は、対物レンズと、対物レンズを駆動するレンズアクチュエータと、受光部と、各情報層に対してデータを記録、再生するために設定される各パラメータ群の値を、起動時に決定し、各情報層への記録禁止、あるいは再生禁止の設定管理を行うシステム制御部を備え、複数の積層された情報層を有する光ディスクに対して、各層のパラメータ群の値が決定できずエラーが起こっても、起動停止することなく、少なくともパラメータ群が正常に決定できた層に対しては、記録あるいは再生可能な設定をする構成とした。これにより、各情報層の状態を情報層毎に管理し、それぞれの層で、再生又は記録動作を速やかに開始して、多層ディスクを有効に使用することができる。
