Abstract

 本発明は、少なくとも、多数本のシリカガラス繊維からなる繊維状シリカガラス担体と、該繊維状シリカガラス担体の表面に形成された、光触媒となる材料の被膜とからなる繊維状光触媒体、及び、少なくとも、反応器と、該反応器内に収容された、上記の繊維状光触媒体と、紫外線ランプとを具備し、前記紫外線ランプで前記繊維状光触媒体に紫外線を照射しながら、前記繊維状光触媒体に被処理物を接触させ、光触媒作用によって該被処理物を浄化処理する浄化装置、並びに、少なくとも、多数本のシリカガラス繊維からなる繊維状シリカガラス担体を作製し、該繊維状シリカガラス担体の表面に、光触媒となる材料の被膜を形成する処理を行う繊維状光触媒体の製造方法である。これにより、光触媒作用を効率よく発揮させることができる光触媒体及びこれの製造方法、並びにこのような光触媒体を用いた浄化装置が提供される。
