Abstract
本発明は、部品点数が少なく、製造容易な雨滴検出システムを提供する。 透明基板と、発光素子と、検出器と、を備えた雨滴検出システムであって、前記透明基板は、該透明基板内に埋設されている第1および第2の回折格子を備え、前記発光素子から出射された光束は、前記透明基板の室内側面から前記透明基板内に入射して第1の回折格子に入射され、第1の回折格子に入射された光束は、第1の回折格子により、前記透明基板の室外側面に空気に対する全反射角以上の入射角で入射するように偏向されて出射し、第1の回折格子から出射された光束は、前記透明基板の室外側面で、当該室外側面の表面状態に対応する反射率で反射して第2の回折格子に入射され、 第2の回折格子に入射された光束は、第2の回折格子により、前記透明基板の室内側面に対して空気との全反射角未満の入射角で入射するように偏向されて出射し、第2の回折格子から出射された光束は、前記透明基板の室内側面から出射して前記検出器により検出される、ことを特徴とする雨滴検出システム。
