Abstract

【課題】ガス発生器を小型化しても乗員の衝撃を吸収することができ、エアバッグ装置の小型化・低コスト化・軽量化等の要求に応えることができるエアバッグ及びエアバッグ装置を提供する。 【解決手段】本発明のエアバッグ装置は、所定の条件でガスを発生させるインフレータ（ガス発生器）１と、インフレータ１に接続されて膨張展開されるエアバッグ２と、エアバッグ２を収容するリテーナ（図示せず）と、を有し、前記エアバッグ２は、エアバッグ２の外殻に形成されたベントホール３と、ベントホール３の開閉を行う開閉手段４と、を備え、開閉手段４は、エアバッグ２の膨張展開が完了するまではベントホール３を略閉状態とし、エアバッグ２の潰れ量が所定の基準値に達するまでにベントホール３を全開状態とするように構成されている。
