Abstract

 本発明の液晶表示装置(100)は、透過型の第1の液晶パネルと第2の液晶パネルとを重ね合わせ、それぞれの液晶パネルが同一の映像ソースに基づいた映像の表示を行う。第1の液晶パネルは、2フィールドで1フレームの映像を表示するインターレース方式で駆動され、第2の液晶パネルは、1フィールドで1フレームの映像を表示するプログレッシブ方式で駆動されているので、干渉縞が発生しない表示品位の高い表示装置となる。これにより、透過型の液晶パネルを複数枚重ねた場合であっても、干渉縞が発生しない表示品位の高い液晶表示装置を実現する。
