Abstract

【課題】印字される画像の印字データのつなぎ目にヘッドの走査方向にスジが発生するのを防止することを目的とする。 【解決手段】副走査方向に沿って複数のドット形成要素が配列された印字ヘッドに多数のドット情報からる印字データが供給される。印字ヘッドと印字媒体は、互いに、主走査方向と副走査方向に相対移動し、印字媒体の表面に画像が印字される。印字ヘッドの主走査動作ごとに供給される印字データには、その副走査方向の端部のつなぎ目に、印字ヘッドの主走査方向に連続してドットが並ばないようにした、例えば波形の凹凸形状の変形データ部が形成される。この波形の凹凸形状輪郭は、あいまいな状態に設定され、該輪郭のあいまいな状態は、印字された輪郭を目で見たとき、連続した輪郭線とならない状態である。
