Abstract

　摺動面の全周に渡って良好な潤滑油膜を形成することができる密封装置を提供する。 　軸孔を有するハウジングと軸孔に挿入される軸のうちの一方の部材に設けられた環状溝に装着されて、これら２部材間の環状隙間を密封する密封装置１であって、２部材の軸方向の相対運動によって他方の部材と摺動するシールリング２を備えた密封装置１において、シールリング２は、他方の部材との摺動面２０の軸方向両端部に、シールリング２の端面２１から摺動面２０の軸方向中央側に向かって延びる溝２２が、それぞれ複数形成され、溝２２と摺動面２０との境界線を、摺動面２０の摺動方向に対して傾斜した線のみで構成するとともに、境界線が傾斜した線で構成される領域が摺動面２０の全周に渡って連続するように、複数の溝２３が周方向に隣接して設けられていることを特徴とする。
