Abstract

 管状光源(蛍光灯など)を視認できず、表示ユニットからの輝度を均一化できる直下型バックライトとそのための光拡散板を提供する。  直下型バックライトユニットを構成する異方性拡散板24は、表示ユニット1と、この表示ユニットを裏面から照光するための複数の管状光源22との間に配設される。異方性拡散板は、互いに屈折率が異なる連続相Cと粒子状分散相Dとを有し、粒子状分散相Dの平均アスペクト比が1より大きく、粒子状分散相Dの長軸方向が一方の方向に配向した異方性散乱層で構成され、散乱角θと散乱光強度Fとの関係を示す散乱特性F(θ)において、粒子状分散相の長軸方向での光散乱特性をFx(θ)、粒子状分散相の長軸方向に対して直交する方向の散乱特性をFy(θ)としたとき、散乱角θ=18°での異方度F18(Fy(18°)/Fx(18°))>2であり、ヘーズ値が95%以上、厚みが0.5~5mmである。
