Abstract

大画面化、高精細化されたプラズマディスプレイパネルにおいて、書込み放電を安定に発生させるために、走査電極(SC1~SCn)に、1フィールド期間の少なくとも1つのサブフィールド(第1SF)の初期化期間において、電位Vi1から電位Vi2に向かって上昇する第1の傾斜波形電圧を印加するとともに、各サブフィールド(第1SF、第2SF、・・・)の維持期間の最後において、ベース電位から所定電位Versに向かって上昇し、前記所定電位Versに到達したら直ちに降下させる第2の傾斜波形電圧を印加する。
