Abstract

2相駆動動作は、少なくとも最も大きい輝度重みのサブフィールドで行い、初期化期間において第1の電位から第2の電位に下降する第1のランプ波形を複数の第1の走査電極に印加し、第1の電位よりも高い第3の電位から第2の電位よりも高い第4の電位に下降する第2のランプ波形を複数の第2の走査電極に印加し、書込み期間において複数の第1の走査電極に順に走査パルスを印加し、その後に複数の第2の走査電極に順に走査パルスを印加するものである。2相駆動動作を適用することにより書き込み放電の放電不良を防止できる。
