Abstract

 光送信器100は、光源部103から出力される光に低周波のパイロット信号を重畳し、パイロット信号が重畳された信号光を、入力された変調信号に応じて変調するEA変調部106を備えており、EA変調部106から出力された信号光の高出力側の最大値(Vp)と、高出力側の最大値の変動幅(VH)と、低出力側の最小値の変動幅(VL)とを検出し、高出力側の最大値(Vp)を基にして、光変調器に入力する電気信号のバイアス電位を調整し、高出力側の最大値の変動幅(VL)と低出力側の最小値の変動幅(VL)とを基にしてEA変調部106に入力する変調信号の振幅を調整する。
