Abstract
【課題】一つのサーボ層と複数の記録層を積層方向に有する多層記録媒体に対応する光ピックアップ装置において、記録再生用のレーザ光を目標とする記録層に円滑かつ迅速に引き込むことができ、且つこの記録層に対するサーボ動作を円滑に行い得るようにする。
【解決手段】サーボ用対物レンズ107と記録再生用対物レンズ116が共通にホルダ131に保持されている。サーボ用対物レンズ107と記録再生用対物レンズ116が一体的に変位されることにより、サーボ層に対するサーボ光の引き込みが行われる。このとき、記録光と再生光の焦点位置はサーボ光の焦点位置に追従するため、記録光と再生光の焦点位置はサーボ層の近くに位置づけられる。よって、サーボ層にサーボ光を引き込んだ後に、目標の記録層に記録光と再生光を円滑かつ迅速に引き込むことができる。
