Abstract

 電子と正孔の再結合を利用して発光する発光部を備えた電子装置及び電子装置の発光制御方法において、発光部を長寿命化した電子装置及び電子装置の発光制御方法を提供する。  電子と正孔の再結合を利用して発光する発光部と、この発光部に、0.7以上で1.0よりも小さいデューティ比としたパルス状の駆動信号を入力して発光部を断続的に発光させる駆動部とを有する電子装置及び電子装置の発光制御方法であって、電子濃度をn、正孔濃度をp、電子の熱速度をvth:n、正孔の熱速度をvth:p、発光部に存在する欠陥準位の電子に対する捕獲断面積をσn、発光部に存在する欠陥準位の正孔に対する捕獲断面積をσp、駆動信号のパルス幅をWとして、駆動部によって、   W<1/{n・vth:n・σn・p・vth:p・σp/(n・vth:n・σn+p・vth:p・σp)} を満たすパルス幅Wの駆動信号を発光部に入力させる。
