Abstract

 この発明は、耐久性能を向上させるための構造を備えた光ケーブルに関する。当該光ケーブルは、基本構造として、光ファイバ心線と、この光ファイバ心線の外周を覆うケーブル外被を備える。光ファイバ心線は、ガラスファイバと、紫外線硬化樹脂の被覆層から構成されている。また、耐久性能として優れた耐衝撃性を実現するため、光ファイバ心線の被覆層は、ヤング率200Mpa以上の第1被覆を含む。一方、ケーブル外被は、ハロゲンを含まない熱可塑性樹脂からなる。ケーブル外被は、0.7mm以上の厚みを有するとともに、UL規格でV2以上の難燃性と、第1被覆と同じかそれ以上のヤング率とを有する。
