Abstract

本発明は、優れた磁気特性を有する希土類系永久磁石の原料となるR-T-B系合金を提供することを目的とする。本発明は、希土類系永久磁石に用いられる原料であり、少なくともDyを含むR-T-B系(但し、RはSc、Y、La、Ce、Pr、Nd、Pm、Sm、Eu、Gd、Tb、Ho、Er、Tm、Yb、Luのうち少なくとも1種であり、TはFeを80質量%以上含む遷移金属であり、BはBを50質量%以上含み、C、Nのうち少なくとも1種を0質量%以上50質量%未満含むものである。)合金であって、R2T14B相などの磁性を発現するための主相と、合金全体の組成比と比較してRの濃縮されたRリッチ相と、前記Rリッチ相の近傍に形成され、前記組成比と比較してDyの濃縮されたDy濃縮領域とを有するR-T-B系合金を提供する。
