Abstract

 本発明は、正極と、負極と、リチウムイオン伝導性を有し、正極と負極とに介在する非水電解質とを有するリチウム二次電池であって、正極はリチウムイオンを吸蔵・放出する正極活物質を有し、負極はケイ素、スズからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の元素を含む負極活物質を有し、所定の充電方法で充電したリチウム二次電池の完全充電状態において、正極活物質と負極活物質とはそれぞれ第1の部分充電状態であり、所定の放電方法で放電したリチウム二次電池の完全放電状態において、負極活物質は第2の部分充電状態であるリチウム二次電池に関する。このように正極活物質の充電状態と負極活物質の充電状態とを組み合わせて電池設計することにより、充放電サイクル特性の優れたリチウム二次電池を提供することができる。
