Abstract

 本発明は、光透過性、抵抗特性、均一性、対基材密着性に優れた透明導電層を有する液晶表示装置の製造方法及び液晶表示装置を提供する。本発明の液晶表示装置は、液晶表示パネルとバックライトユニットとを備え、前記液晶表示パネルは、液晶層を介して互いに対向して配置される透明基板のうち、その一方または両方の液晶層側の領域面に、表示用電極と基準電極とを有し、該基準電極と前記表示用電極との間に、透明基板と平行に発生させる電界によって前記液晶層を透過する光を変調させる構成し、前記透明基板のうち、前記バックライトユニットに対して遠い側に位置する透明基板は、前記スイッチング素子が形成されていない側の透明基板であり、該透明基板の液晶層と反対側の面側に、薄膜形成ガスとして少なくとも窒素ガスを用いた大気圧プラズマ法により透光性を備える透明導電層を形成したことを特徴とする。
