Abstract

本発明の液晶表示装置10は、一対のガラス基板31,41の間に液晶層50を設けてなる液晶パネル11と、当該液晶パネル11に照明光を供給する照明装置12と、を含む液晶表示装置であって、前記一対のガラス基板31,41のうち前記照明装置12とは反対側に配されるガラス基板41には、黒点不良の生成位置と平面視重なる位置に、当該ガラス基板41の液晶層50とは反対側の面に凹みを有する凹レンズ60が形成され、当該凹レンズ60の少なくとも一部には、前記ガラス基板41と同等以上の光屈折率を有する透光性材料70が塗布されていることを特徴とする。
