- Titanium nickel alloy surface modification method of titanium nickel alloy and biological friendly material
- the present invention relates to a titanium-kelke alloy having a reduced Ni content on the surface and improved corrosion resistance, a surface modification method for the titanium-nickel alloy, and a biocompatible material using the titanium-nickel alloy.
- the atomic ratio of titanium (Ti) to nickel (Ni) is around 1 to 1 (specifically, the atomic ratio is 48.
- Patent Document 1 discloses that a titanium-nickel alloy is used as a material for a mesh-like cylinder (stent) that prevents contraction of a blood vessel by expanding the diameter after being inserted into the blood vessel.
- Patent Documents 2 and 3 disclose that the nickel concentration in the surface acid film of titanium nickel alloy is reduced by surface treatment.
- Non-Patent Document 1 describes that nickel is regarded as a problem as a causative substance of metal allergy in titanium-nickel alloys and austenitic stainless steels. Further, as means for solving the problem, It has been proposed that about 1% by weight of nitrogen be absorbed by the alloy by contact with nitrogen gas (2 hours) in a heated (1200 ° C) heat treatment furnace. This Non-Patent Document 1 describes that nitrogen instead of nickel improves mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.

- a titanium-nickel alloy that exhibits a superelastic effect is preferred as an orthodontic wire, stent, or catheter, and has physical properties.
- the biologically harmful nickel has an atomic ratio. About half are included.
- Ti-6A1-4V is known as an alloy for biological implants. Titanium nickel alloys have a problem that the amount of ions eluted in an aqueous solution is larger than that of Ti-6A1-4V.
- Patent Document 1 there is no specific solution for the biological harm of nickel.
- Patent Document 2 shows various surface treatment methods and Patent Document 3 shows ion implantation methods. I found an improved alloy.
- Non-Patent Document 1 recognizes the biological harm of nickel, attempts to absorb about 1% by weight of nitrogen into the alloy have been made only for austenitic stainless steel, and for titanium-nickel alloys. What is shown!
- the present invention provides a titanium-nickel alloy having a composition in which the atomic ratio of titanium (Ti) and nickel (Ni) is 48.5 to 51.5%,
- the modified layer was formed on the surface with a reduced nickel content compared to the inside.
- the ratio of nickel atoms to one titanium atom in the modified layer can be 0.1 or less, and it was verified to less than 0.01.
- the thickness of the modified layer is preferably as thick as possible in view of biological hazards, etc., but it is required that it is not too thick for deformation due to shape memory characteristics, superelasticity, etc. It was possible to produce with the above thickness. It is thought that the thickness of the modified layer can be changed by changing the electrolytic treatment conditions.
- Examples of means for forming the modified layer on the surface of the titanium-nickel alloy include a method of electrolytic treatment in an electrolyte solution containing a weak acid.
- the electrolyte solution was mixed with 10 to 40 vol% glycerol, 0.1 to 80 vol% lactic acid and water (remainder). It is preferable to comprise.
- the titanium-nickel alloy according to the present invention can be used as a biocompatible material (a material that comes into contact with a living body during use and has a low biological harm such as allergy or carcinogenicity).
- the biologically friendly materials include medical equipment, cosmetics, barbers, clothes, personal belongings, general-purpose parts, personal accessories and accessories of general-purpose parts, food and drink containers, cooking containers, beverage equipment, cooking equipment. Examples include household hygiene products, hobby and entertainment products, pet products, sports equipment, toys, portable watches such as wristwatches, portable electronic devices such as cellular phones, and food processing machines.
- Examples of the medical instrument include a diagnostic instrument, a surgical instrument, a treatment instrument, and a dental instrument.
- the surgical machine tool and the treatment machine tool include a stent or a catheter
- the dental machine tool includes an orthodontic wire or an endodontic file.
- the titanium-nickel alloy according to the present invention has a modified layer in which the ratio of nickel is reduced on the surface compared to the inside, and the corrosion resistance is improved. Therefore, the shape memory characteristics and superelasticity of the titanium-nickel alloy are improved. The biocompatibility is further improved while maintaining the effect.
