Definitions
- the invention relates to a splice connection between ropes or belts to form stitches in a net, in particular for nets for securing cargo on a pallet, the ropes or belts crossing at the joint and penetrating each other.
- the invention further relates to a network, in particular for securing cargo on a pallet consisting of ropes or belts.
- a splice connection between two ropes of a transport network is described in the publication US 4,000,344.
- Each rope has an opening at the connection point.
- the cable sections that intersect at the connection point penetrate the cable section of the respective other cable once through the opening.
- After making the net it is impregnated with a binder to achieve adhesion between the fibers of the ropes and to improve the anti-slip property at the intersections.
- binder impregnation does little to improve cross-site life.
- connection of bands in which at the junction only one of the two bands to be joined together has a bridge.
- the second band penetrates this bridge at the junction and is secured by stitching to the first band portion.
- the disadvantage of such a connection fertil is that it has only a low breaking strength, which is determined by the breaking strength of the suture.
- the invention has for its object to provide splices and a network for securing cargo on a pallet in which the breaking strength of the tapes or ropes at the point of connection during use is reduced as little as possible.
- the object is achieved according to the invention in that the splice connection has a securing device which prevents movement of the cables or bands against one another at the location of the splice connection.
- the object is achieved according to the invention in that the cables or belts are at least partially connected by means of such splices.
- the breaking strength at the splice connections decreases to a much lesser extent.
- An appropriately designed network can therefore be used much longer.
- the advantage of the splice connection according to the invention is that, at the location of the splice A binding caused by moving the cargo on the pallet or by movement of the means of transport chafing of the interconnected ropes or belts to each other is prevented. As a result, wear on the ropes and straps at the location of the splice is largely prevented, so that their breaking strength hardly decreases during use of the networks.
- the securing device is formed by a seam, which detects at the location of the splice connection superposed ropes or bands or parts thereof.
- This is a very simple security device, which can also be attached later to splices already used networks.
- the shape and the stitch length of the seam can be varied in many ways and so adapted to the material of the ropes or bands and the load acting on the network.
- the securing device can be formed by winding the superimposed at the location of the splice ropes or bands with an auxiliary thread.
- the splice is in this case wound around many times with the auxiliary thread, whereby a high-strength connection of the ropes arises, which applies little and protects the joint against external influences.
- the auxiliary thread may consist of the same material as the bands or ropes but also of another material. This safety device can be attached with little effort to splices, even subsequently to such networks already used
- the securing device is formed by an adhesive, which connects the superimposed at the location of the splice ropes or bands together.
- This option is particularly cost-effective and can be particularly well matched to the material of the interconnected ropes or belts by the choice of a suitable adhesive material.
- the splice can be additionally or alternatively sealed to the previously mentioned security devices. In this way, on the one hand, the movement of the - A -
- the sealing of the splice connection can be effected by means of silicone or a polyurethane. These sealing materials are advantageously particularly resistant to environmental influences, for example to sunlight exposure.
- the sealing compound is designed rubber-elastic. In this way, the sealant can follow the change in length of the ropes or bands of the network under load of the network and thus has a longer life.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention has a splice connection enclosed by a capsule.
- the capsule which contains the splice connection in its interior, can advantageously be retrofitted to the net and easily replaced after a certain period of use against a new capsule, when the closure mechanism of the capsule is designed so that it can be opened again.

- Figure 3 shows a secured by sealing splice connection according to the invention between cables in a schematic view from the side.
- Figure 1 shows a section of a network for securing cargo on a pallet, which is preferably used for securing air freight becomes.
- a network consists of a plurality of ropes or, analogously to the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, of ribbons for forming stitches. These bands can be braided or woven.
- the detail shown in Figure 1 shows a portion of a first band 1 and a portion of a second band 2 of such a freight network.
- the bands have at regular intervals at the location of the splice 3, at which the bands 1, 2 are to be connected to each other, bridges 5, 6.
- the bridges can also be referred to as openings.
- the first band 1 penetrates the second band 2.
- the first bridge 5 divides, ie splices, the second band into an upper part and a lower part, between which the second band is arranged , Furthermore, a penetration of the second band 2 through the first band 1 is accordingly made possible by the second bridge 6 in the first band 1. Through the mutual penetration of the bands, the splice connection 3 of these bands is produced.
- the splice connection 3 is against movement, i. against slipping of the bands 1, 2 secured against each other by means of seams 9, 10.
- Both seams connect the first band 1 and the second band 2 with each other.
- the first seam 9 can be set so that it covers both the upper and the lower part of the first band 1 and the second band 2 arranged therebetween.
- the first seam 9 can also be set such that it connects only the upper part of the first band 1 or the lower part of the first band 1 to the second band 2.
- the second seam 10 is set analogously to the first seam 9 so that it covers both the upper and the lower part of the second band 2 and the first band 1 arranged therebetween.
- the first seam 9 and the second seam 10 may be designed in different shapes. They can, as shown with reference to Figure 1, in the form a jagged line. Furthermore, the line may also have, for example, the shape of a cross or a rectangle. The seam could also be formed as a double or multiple seam. Further, the stitches of the seams may be formed differently long. Both the shape of the seam and the stitch length can be adapted to the material of the ropes or the bands of the net.
- FIG. 2 shows a further section of a freight network according to the invention.
- the freight network consists of cables, wherein only a portion of a first cable 11 and a second cable 12 are shown in FIG.
- the rope is preferably made of a plastic and may be braided or woven.
- the first cable 11 has a first opening 15 at the point where the splice connection 13 is arranged between the first cable 11 and the second cable 12.
- the second cable 12 is passed through the first opening 15 of the first cable 11.
- the second cable 12 has a second opening 16, through which the first cable 11 is passed.
- an adhesive 18 is applied according to the invention between the first cable 11 and the second cable 12 in this section between the openings 15 and 16, which connects both ropes 11, 12 with each other and thus prevents movement of these against each other.
- the material of the adhesive is advantageously adapted to the material of the ropes so that it connects them particularly well.
- the adhesive may be between the upper part of the first
- Rope 11, which lies over the second rope 12, and the second rope 12th be arranged.
- a second possibility is to attach the adhesive between the part of the first cable 11 which lies under the second cable 12 and the second cable 12.
- both variants can be used for the application of the adhesive.
- FIG. 3 shows a further exemplary embodiment of a splice connection according to the invention, in which the splice connection 13 is provided with a seal 20.
- the seal 20 covers the splice joint 13 from all sides, so that no dirt particles can penetrate into the splice connection 13 between the ropes 11, 12. This prevents that these dirt particles generate abrasion on the ropes 11, 12.
- the sealing of the splice connection 13 can be effected by means of silicone or polyurethane.
- the sealing compound is formed rubber-elastic.
- the cables 11, 12 are adhesively bonded by means of adhesive analogously to the exemplary embodiment illustrated with reference to FIG.
- a plurality of the above-described adhesive joints are additionally provided on the splice connection in order to secure the cables 11, 12 against movement relative to one another.
- the ropes additionally or alternatively by sewing.
- only one seal of the splice without an additional adhesive or seam connection may be provided.
- the splice connection is firmly encapsulated.
- the capsule is such that the splice connection is completely disposed within the capsule and the ropes or straps emerge laterally from openings of the capsule.
- the capsule is preferably made of plastic.
- a mechanical connection in particular a snap connection can be used.
- AIIe described embodiments describe securing devices which prevent movement of the ropes or bands against each other at the location of the splice, so that abrasion at this point is not or only minimally generated.
- the safety devices can be combined as desired. This can ensure that the decrease in the breaking strength of the cargo nets in use is minimized and consequently the useful life of the cargo nets is increased.
- the above design options for splices are not only suitable for networks for securing cargo on a pallet, but also for other types of networks.
