Bac à sable pour caniveauxSandbox for gutters
The present invention relates to a gutter sandbox for installation in environments where rainwater runoff carries sand, earth and other particles.
These particles of earth, sand or other may cause clogging of the drain channel of the gutter, in particular, when said pipe is slightly inclined and long or if it has multiple deflections reducing the speed of flow.
Therefore, it is planned to install a sandbox in the gutter.
It is for example known from EP 931 884 to position a sandbox in the evacuation facilities present along the road. In such an installation, the curb of the road is in the form of a gutter and an outlet allows the passage of water to an underground drainage pipe. For this purpose, a fastening ring integral with the concrete construction constituting the evacuation installation is formed and then a casing constituting an evacuation well is positioned below said ring and connected at its bottom to the evacuation pipe. . The sandbox is constituted by a bucket placed by its upper edge on the fixing ring.
The sandbox according to the present invention is more particularly intended to be implemented in installations made of plastic, the channel being made by the end-to-end assembly of elements of plastic gutters.
At present, existing sandboxes are generally made by a section of the gutter depth greater than that of neighboring gutter elements. This section of gutter comprises a removable receptacle in which are recovered by gravity non-floating particles carried by the water flow. This receptacle has openings in the upper part slightly below the water line of the entire gutter, allowing clear water to escape while the heavy particles are trapped in the bottom of said receptacle.
Also known are sandboxes made in several parts, namely: a bottomless gutter module overlaid one or more receptacles superimposed to achieve a cavity below the gutter water, the receptacle still descending into this cavity.
Such sandboxes, however, have a major drawback in that they require to provide a specific section of the gutter to be put in place. This specific section depth greater than all neighboring elements, creates a discontinuity of the load resistance of the system, especially in the direction of a weakening.
In addition, the volume of particle reception is limited for such sandboxes which requires emptying this sandbox relatively frequent.
In particular, when the gutters are vertical outlet, if the sandbox is full, the particles are driven to the vertical outlet where they fall by gravity. In general, the vertical outlet has a connecting elbow to an evacuation pipe and particles falling into the vertical outlet of the trench can settle there causing long-term clogging.
The invention therefore aims to overcome these disadvantages by proposing a new type of sandbox with adjustable output having a larger particle receiving volume and can be used very effectively in the gutters provided with vertical outlets.
For this purpose the invention relates to a sandbox for gutters having at least one vertical outlet, characterized in that it comprises an element tubular provided at one end of a bottom and at its other end a connecting end connectable to a vertical outlet of a gutter, a basket of tubular shape and having at its upper end exit lights, engaged in said element tubular element, this tubular element further having a lateral outlet connectable to a discharge pipe.
Advantageously, the water is discharged from the gutter via the vertical outlet to which is connected the sandbox according to the invention, the particles contained in the water falling in the basket of said sandbox while the water is evacuated to the evacuation pipe by the lateral outlet of said sandbox connected to said evacuation pipe.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the tubular element comprises two tubular parts, internal and external, disposed coaxially one inside the other. The lower end of the inner part is open and is positioned between the lower level of the side outlet and the bottom carried by the outer part so as to create a siphon.
Very advantageously, the vertical outlet of the gutter is of circular section and at least the connecting end of the tubular element is of circular section also such that said tubular element is orientable by simple rotation so as to put its exit with the evacuation pipe without requiring the presence of additional elbow.
The circular connection end of the tubular element may optionally receive a plug or plug to counteract any accidental pollution.
In order to allow the retention of light pollutants, a filter can be arranged in front of the basket lights.
Connecting the sandbox to the vertical outlet of the standard gutter eliminates the need for a specific module and does not change the intrinsic resistance of the entire gutter installation.
Preferably, the tubular element is of circular section. This circular shape of the sandbox according to the invention is advantageously more resistant to the thrust of the setting concrete during the implementation.
Advantageously, the connection between the tubular element and the vertical outlet of the gutter is made using a seal which makes it easy to obtain a height and rotation adjustment. Preferably, the seal may also be an elastic seal in the upper portion capable of absorbing transverse and longitudinal offsets facilitate surface finishing alignments.
The subject of the invention is also a method of installing a sandbox as described above in which a cavity for receiving the sandbox is hollowed below the general level of the laying bed of the gutter. concrete bed in said receiving cavity to deposit the sandbox, said sandbox is oriented to make the connection with the drain pipe, is made the connection and then injected concrete to the bed level installing the channel to seal the sandbox, the channel element with the vertical outlet is then brought for connection with the sandbox thus sealed.
The invention will be better understood from the following description given by way of nonlimiting example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
La figure 2 représente une variante du bac à sable et de l'élément de caniveau de la figure 1 ,FIG. 1 represents an exploded perspective view of a sandbox according to the invention and of a channel element, FIG. 2 represents a variant of the sandbox and of the channel element of FIG. 1,
Figure 3 shows a sectional view of a second embodiment of a sandbox according to the invention.
The gutter sandbox according to the invention comprises a tubular element 1 of circular section, provided at one end of a bottom and at its other end a connecting end constituted by an opening 2 connectable to a vertical outlet 3 d a gutter element 4.
This basket 5 has at its upper end lights 5a through which the water comes out while the heavy particles fall by gravity into the bottom of the basket 5.
The basket 5 can be disassembled for cleaning and then reassembled in the tubular element 1, locked in position in the vertical outlet 3 of the channel element 4 in order to counter the buoyancy force exerted by the water remaining in the tubular element 1. For this purpose, the locking can be achieved by means of bayonet type 8 or equivalent. It can be provided alternatively that the bottom of the basket 5 is ballasted.
The tubular element 1 has a lateral outlet 6 connectable to an evacuation pipe (not shown). Figures 1 and 2 show two variants of a tubular element 1 provided with a side outlet 6. This positioning difference of the side outlet 6 is chosen according to the siphon needs by adding two standard bends at the outlet.
The vertical outlet 3 of the circular section gutter and the connecting end of the tubular element 1 of circular section are also connectable to one another by means of an elastic seal 7 of the O-ring type to obtain the height adjustment and rotation of said tubular element.
La figure 3 montre une variante de réalisation du bac à sable selon l'invention dans laquelle l'élément tubulaire 1 comporte deux parties tubulaires 10, 11 disposées coaxialement l'une dans l'autre.FIG. 3 shows an alternative embodiment of the sandbox according to the invention in which the tubular element 1 comprises two tubular parts 10, 11 arranged coaxially one inside the other.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the tubular element 1 is mounted on the vertical outlet 3 of the channel element 4 by means of a seal 17 having the shape of a ring.
La partie interne 10 porte l'ouverture 2 de l'élément tubulaire 1 et la partie externe 11 porte le fond de l'élément tubulaire 1.The inner part 10 carries the opening 2 of the tubular element 1 and the outer part 11 carries the bottom of the tubular element 1.
As visible in the drawing, the lower end of the inner portion 10 is open.
By this arrangement, water remains at the bottom of the outer portion 11 and is formed a siphon preventing any possible rise of odor from the downstream portion of the evacuation network connected to the lateral outlet 6.
In this embodiment, the tubular element 1 is for example manufactured by mounting relative to each other and by joining together the three elements 10, 11 and 12 obtained separately by molding.
The sandbox of Figure 3 is further equipped with a filter 50 disposed in front of the lights 5a of the water outlet. Such a filter 50 allows to retain in the basket 5 light pollutants that do not settle by gravity and are driven by water. Said filter 50 is preferably positioned inside the basket 5 so that, on the one hand, it is not hooked when the basket 50 is extracted from the sandbox to be emptied, and on the other hand, pollutants can not be driven out of the basket 5 by interfering between said filter 50 and the wall of the basket 5.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the filter 50 has the appearance of a grid.
Such a filter 50 can of course be positioned in a basket 5 equipping a sandbox according to the embodiments shown in Figures 1 and 2.
