Abstract

　電力変換効率が良く、かつ、小型化に適したＬＥＤ駆動用半導体装置、及びそれを用いたＬＥＤ駆動装置を提供する。本発明のＬＥＤ駆動用半導体装置は、１つ以上のＬＥＤを駆動するための半導体装置であって、交流電圧を整流する整流回路の高圧側に接続され、整流回路からの電圧を入力する入力端子、１つ以上のＬＥＤに電流を与える出力端子、入力端子と出力端子との間に接続され第１のスイッチング素子を有するスイッチング素子ブロック、及び、スイッチング素子ブロックの駆動及び制御用の電源電圧を形成するレギュレータ部と、スイッチング素子ブロックのドレイン電流を検出するドレイン電流検出部とを有し、ドレイン電流が所定の閾値に達した場合にスイッチング素子ブロックのドレイン電流を遮断するよう第１のスイッチング素子をオンオフ制御する制御部、を備えたことを特徴とする。
