Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cooking arrangement, more specifically a cooking range which provides more safety and hygiene than customary cooking installations such as gas- stoves and electrical cooking plates .
  • modules are a combination of units, called modules .
  • These modules have a standard modular construction with a height of 300 mm. (Their width is 150, 300, 450, 600 , 900, 1200, 1500 mm, and substantially corresponding dimensions in the countries using inches) .
  • the top of these units is covered by a plate, the working surface .
  • the working surface has a depth of 600 to 700 mm.
  • cooking plate Customary electrical cooking plates and gas-stoves (hereinafter referred to as cooking plate) are usually provided with four and occasionally five heating positions (hereinafter referred to as cooking points) and in fact two at the front and two at the back and occasionally one in the middle .
  • Working space for putting down pans or for the preparation of dishes are respectively at the right hand side or the left hand side of the cooking plate .
  • This arrangement has a number of disadvantages .
  • Another disadvantage is the fact that with the customary cooking plates it is not or hardly possible to use all (or a number of) cooking points simultaneously, when using larger pans, without (the risk) of pans pushing each other mutually from the pan supports . This may cause very dangerous situations .
  • the customary cooking plates require continuous movements from left to right and/or vice versa, where a movement from front to rear would be less strenuous and would also provide a better survey of the movements .
