- Compact baits can be fixed well when not in use. However, if partially eaten by the rodents, there is a risk that parts of these baits will fall out of the bait station or be carried away. Compact baits that are eaten have a risk of environmental contamination.
- Bait boxes are known for pourable bait that can be filled from the outside without opening the bait box. There is an increased risk here that bait particles will fall out of the stations or be carried away, which has to be excluded in particular in animal husbandry and in food and feed production. Free-flowing baits that are filled into a bait box from the outside therefore have a high safety risk. That is why compact bait is mainly used in animal husbandry and in food and feed production. These can be fixed well when not in use. If they were partially eaten by the rodents, there is also a risk that parts of these baits will fall out of the bait box or be carried away. Eaten compact baits also pose a risk of environmental contamination.
- Lures should be designed in the quantities per bait box as instructed by the manufacturer in the application instructions. Portions of pourable bait would have to be measured before filling. Bait is easily spilled. Non-professional users are generally not equipped for portioning baits. An incorrect dosage can prevent successful control. The dosing of pourable bait may be source of error and carries the risk of exposure of users' and environment.
- Baits can be provided in portioned packages, the contents of which correspond to the recommended amount for a bait station. So that these portions can be stored, they must be sealed airtight and aroma-tight. For the application they are to be opened in order for the target animals, e.g. B. mice to be attractive, and attract them if necessary. Depending on the packaging material used, this process can be strenuous or the packaging can be destroyed more than desired. There is a risk that the user may get skin contact with the bait or spill it. Portioned packaging must be opened for use and pose a risk of exposure to users and the environment.
- Pests are rodents, insects or snails. Rodents are especially rats, mice and voles. Insect pests are particularly crawling insects such as cockroaches, ants and termites.
- Brister packaging is used on a large scale in the food and pharmaceutical sector for packaging purposes and is generally known to the person skilled in the art. Characteristic of Such packagings are molded articles which are open on one side for receiving the packaged goods, here the feed bait made of a comparatively solid material (“blister shell”) and a cover of this molded body made of a comparatively compliant material (“31ister film”).
- Eating baits are compositions that are eaten by the pest in question, contain at least one feed and at least one poison acting on the pest in question in an effective concentration. Depending on the target animal, a rodenticide or insecticide is used as poison. Numerous different formulations for feeding baits are known to the person skilled in the art and are commercially available. Eating baits can be formulated as compact shaped baits ("bait block”), as free-flowing or pourable baits or as a gel (“bait gel”).
- Bait gels are feeding baits with pasty or gel-like consistency.
- the viscosity of the bait gels which can be used can be varied widely and is generally 5,000-100,000 mPas, preferably 8,000-60,000 mPas, particularly preferably 10,000-50,000 mPas.

- Bait blister packs are bait in a blister pack. Basically all feeding baits can be used. Preference is given to using bait that sticks in the blister pack. Bait gels and bait blocks are suitable. Bait blocks are preferably heated and poured in liquid form into the blister packaging, where they harden at room temperature. The advantage of bait blisters is that they are fresh and soft to use, even if they contain water. Contains one serving for fighting mice. 1 g to 50 g of bait, preferably 3 g to 30 g and particularly preferably 5 g to 15 g. For the control of rats, a serving contains 10 g to 300 g.
