  • the sectors 5 are arranged circumferentially side-by-side along the sidewall of the cylindrical support 4 and blocked thereon by conventional connection means.
  • the sectors 5 could be arranged immediately adjacent the one to the other, and/or so that the respective sets 30 of bristles be closely side-by-side, or they could be spaced thereamong so that the bristles 3 be distributed in distinct longitudinal working areas.
  • the sectors 5 could be arranged so that the groups of bristles 30 are substantially equidistant in a circumferential direction.
  • the central support 4 comprises, for each bristle 3, one pair of side-by-side mounting seats, 6 and 7, respectively, consisting in through holes obtained in the sidewall of the support itself.
  • Each bristle 3 is inserted through both the seats 6 and 7 so as to arrange according to a substantially U-shaped configuration, and to be held bracket-like by the sidewall of the support 4.
  • a further variant embodiment of the device provides that in the support 4 there be obtained blind holes, each receiving a respective set of bristles which are locked therein by a means such as resin or the like.
  • the device 1 is apt to be employed in an apparatus 100 for working, and in particular for dressing, shaped pieces made of hard stones and the like.
  • the apparatus 100 comprises driving means 101, apt to give to the bristles 3 a working motion with respect to the piece to be worked.
  • a working motion is a rotary motion about an axis A coincident with or parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical support 4.
  • Said means 101 could consist, e.g., of a conventional electric motor (not depicted) with possible associated transmission organs, provided with a shaft onto which the support 4 is splined.
  • the operation modes of the apparatus 100 and of the device 1 are exemplified in Figures 4 A and 4B. With reference to the latter, as it is shown the elastic deformability of the bristles 3 makes the apparatus 100 suitable for polishing shaped pieces P, P' having contours very different one from the other. In particular, in the disclosed arrangement the bristles 3 are apt to totally envelop the piece to be worked and to exert thereon the abrading action required by virtue of their working motion.

  • the device 10 comprises a main body 20 having a substantially porous, and in particular substantially spongy, abrading structure.
  • the abrading structure 20 may be obtained by dipping a non-abrading porous body into an abrading bath.
  • the structure 20 is mounted on a support 40, in its turn connected or connectible to revolving driving means 101 of an apparatus 102 analogous to the one already described above.
  • the operation modes of the apparatus 102 are exemplified in Figures 6A and 6B, and for them the same considerations already reported above with regard to Figures 4A and 4B hold true.
  • the elastic deformability of the main body 20 makes the apparatus 102 suitable for polishing shaped pieces P, P' having contours highly different one from the other.
  • the body 20 is apt to totally envelop the piece to be worked and to exert thereon the required abrading action by virtue of its own working motion. It will be appreciated that the embodiments disclosed in the foregoing have the merit of an utmost simplicity of construction and of being implementable at a low cost, though being quite effective for a rapid and satisfactory polishing of the pieces.
  • variant embodiments can provide elastically deformable abrading means different from those disclosed above, optionally formed by a plurality of abrading elements that may be arranged like the bristles of the first embodiment.
  • cylindrical support of the bristles or of the porous structure can be replaced by supports of different construction, or anyhow by alternative means for connecting to the driving means.
  • the driving means can be apt to give to the abrading means a continuous or reciprocating rotary motion or a motion of translation rather than a rotary one, or a combination of the two.

Ce dispositif (1) de polissage de pièces façonnées en pierres dures et similaires comprend un corps abrasif constitué de soies (3) élastiquement déformables de façon à se conformer à la configuration des pièces à usiner (P, P') ayant des formes sensiblement différentes, et un support (4) à connecter à un moteur électrique rotatif (101) afin de transmettre aux soies (3) un mouvement rotatif d'usinage par rapport à la pièce à usiner.
