Abstract

The invention relates to a machine for mechanisation of the folding of raw animal skins, comprising, in the longitudinal direction thereof, a succession of conveyors (4, 5, 6, 7) with belts, cables or bands (16), provided with motorised propulsion means. The conveyors (4, 6, 7) are mounted to pivot about transverse axes (8, 12, 13) and connected to means of controlling the upwards pivoting thereof. An other non-pivoting conveyor (5) is transversely divided into several conveyor sections (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d), some (5a, 5b, 5d) of which are mounted to pivot about longitudinal axes (9, 10, 11) and are connected to means for controlling the upwards pivoting thereof. The machine thus permits the longitudinal and transverse folding of skins in the same space and the transport and removal thereof.
