Verfahren und Feuchtwerke zur kontaktlosen Befeuchtung eines Zylinders oder einer Walze einer FlachdruckmaschineMethod and dampening units for contactless moistening of a cylinder or a roll of a planographic printing machine
The invention relates to methods and dampening units for contactless moistening of a cylinder or a roller of a planographic printing machine according to the preamble of claim 1, 2, 8, 10, 11 or 43.
The moistening of cylinders or rollers in the printing unit of planographic printing presses is of great importance for the function of the printing unit, since in offset printing uniform wetting of the printing plate surface must be provided with a fountain solution in order to prevent an acceptance of ink at the non-printing areas of the printing plate , The humidification can not be achieved by uncontrolled wet-making, but it is rather a sensitive, controlled and uniform as possible application of fountain solution required.
Various systems for moistening in the printing unit are known from the prior art. A distinction is made between contact dampeners and contactless dampening units. In the contact dampening systems, for example, Heberfeuchtwerken, cloth dampening units or dampening units, the dampening solution is transferred by the contact of the roller to be moistened with a correspondingly suitable transfer agent, such as a transfer roller or provided with a contact tabs flap roller. In the case of non-contact dampening units, for example, centrifugal dampening units or nozzle dampening units, on the other hand, a fountain solution mist is produced and accelerated in the direction of the cylinder surface of the cylinder to be moistened. Due to the resulting directional movement of the dampening solution droplets in the dampening agent mist, a dampening agent flow directed onto the cylinder surface is produced, which supplies the cylinder surface with the required amount supplied the dampening solution.
From DE 26 58 875 A1 discloses a contactless working dampening unit is known. In this dampening unit, a dampening agent mist with directed flow is generated in a high-pressure liquid atomizing nozzle. Supported by a fan this dampening mist is directed onto the peripheral surface of a dampening roller, so that a dampening roller is wetted with the dampening solution. The dampening roller in turn rolls on a plate cylinder and transfers through this contact the dampening solution in the desired manner to the printing plates of the plate cylinder.
A disadvantage of the known contactless dampening works is that the wetting of the roller required flow of dampening solution mist is not absolutely uniform. Due to the resulting differences in the dampening solution flow follows an uneven wetting of the cylinder surface. The required transport flow also dries off a certain part of the moisture on the cylinder surface. In addition, the known dampening units are relatively maintenance-intensive.
A discloses a dampening unit in which water vapor is produced by means of a liquid atomizer and a heating device. This steam, d. H. no aerosol, is passed to moisten on a planographic printing plate.
A and DE 21 27 021 A describe dampening units in which heated steam is passed to the pressure plate. A change in the amount of dampening solution deposited on the printing plate takes place via temperature changes. The invention has for its object to provide methods and dampening units for contactless moistening of a cylinder or a roll of a planographic printing machine.
This object is achieved by the features of claim 1, 2, 8, 10, 11 or 43.
The invention is based on the idea of precipitating the fountain solution droplets contained in the fountain solution by condensation on the surface of the planographic printing form or of the cylinder or of the roller to be moistened. The deposition of dampening solution by condensation is achieved in that the dampening mist has a higher temperature than the cylinder surface. It is known that the amount of a dampening solution, which in a gas atmosphere to saturation, d. H. can be taken up to the precipitation of the dampening solution from the gas atmosphere, depends on the temperature of the gas atmosphere. Ie. at higher temperatures, a larger absolute amount of moisture can be absorbed by the gas atmosphere. The fountain solution mist represents such a gas atmosphere in which the dampening solution is finely divided. If the fountain solution mist is now cooled by contact with the colder cylinder surface, the saturation limit is crossed by the corresponding temperature reduction, so that the dampening solution contained in the dampening agent mist condenses in part on the cooler planographic printing plate.
Since the deposition of the fountain solution contained in the fountain solution is based solely on the temperature difference between the cylinder surface and the fountain solution, and this temperature difference over the entire cylinder surface can be set very evenly, by applying the method an extremely uniform dampening solution on the cylinder surface is possible. In addition, condensation dampeners are extremely maintenance-insensitive, since the deposition of dampening solution alone on the physical effect of condensation of dampening solution is based, so that essentially no mechanically moving components are required for dampening solution.
In known dampening units, the moistening of the plate cylinder is often done indirectly, d. H. with the interposition of transfer rollers between the actual dampening unit and the plate cylinder, thereby achieving a more uniform distribution of dampening solution on the plate cylinder. Since a very uniform distribution of dampening solution is possible with the method, the plate cylinder can also be moistened directly. For this purpose, the plate cylinder itself is moved by the dampening agent mist, so that the fountain solution condenses directly on the printing plates of the plate cylinder.
Relative humidity refers to the percentage ratio between the actual absolute dampening solution content in the gas atmosphere and the maximum possible dampening solution content of the gas atmosphere at a certain temperature. At a relative humidity of 100%, therefore, the saturation limit of the gas atmosphere is reached at the corresponding temperature, so that the dampening solution dissolved in the gas atmosphere precipitates readily. In order to ensure a reliable functioning of the method according to the invention, the dampening solution should precipitate only when approaching the cooler cylinder surface and condense on the cylinder surface. The relative humidity in the actual dampening mist should therefore not be higher than about 95%, since otherwise the dampening solution contained in the dampening agent mist can be uncontrolled. On the other hand, it must be ensured that with suitable temperature differences sufficient dampening solution can be deposited by condensation on the cylinder surface. For this, the dampening mist should have a relative humidity of more than 65%. Particularly advantageous is a relative humidity range of 80 to 90%, in particular a relative humidity of about 85% has been found. Depending on the different operating parameters when using the offset printing press, the amount of water separated by condensation must be changed. This is especially the case, for example, when the printing speed is increased or decreased. To achieve this, the condensation process for separating the dampening solution on the cylinder surface should be controllable or controllable. The construction of corresponding control paths or control loops can be made possible, for example, by, for example, increasing or decreasing the atomized dampening solution quantity. As a result, namely, the relative humidity in the fountain solution mist can be changed so that condenses at a corresponding temperature difference more or less dampening solution. As an alternative to changing the amount of atomized dampening solution and the associated change in the relative humidity in the dampening mist and the temperature difference between dampening agent mist and cylinder surface can be changed. Because the higher the temperature difference between dampening agent mist and cylinder surface, the more dampening solution is deposited by condensation on the cylinder surface. To set a desired temperature difference, either the temperature of the dampening solution to be atomized, for example the temperature of the water to be atomized, and / or the temperature of the cylinder surface can be changed. In particular, the dampening solution can be heated by a corresponding dampening means temperature control device and / or the cylinder surface can be cooled by a corresponding cooling device, while the temperature difference between dampening agent mist and cylinder surface should be at least about 1 ° C.
Embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings and will be described in more detail below.

B. plate cylinder 01, or a roller is by means of two rollers 02; 03, z. B. inking rollers 02; 03 supplied from an inking unit not shown with ink. In order to prevent the acceptance of printing ink at the non-printing locations of the printing plates mounted on the circumference of the plate cylinder 01, a fountain solution, for example water, must be applied finely distributed on the planographic printing dies resting on the cylinder surface 04 of the plate cylinder 01. The humidification of the cylinder surface 04 is effected by use of a damping unit 06, shown schematically in cross-section.
In dampening unit 06 a plurality of trained in the nature of Ultraschallzerstäubern 07 Luftbefeuchtungseinrichtungen 07 are provided by the use of a fountain solution present in a dampening solution 08, namely water, can be atomized. The fountain solution reservoir 08 is connected via an inlet 09 and a return 11 to a heating circuit, not shown, wherein the dampening solution is pumped through the fountain solution 08 permanently. As a result, on the one hand, the level in the fountain solution reservoir 08 does not fall below a certain lower limit and, moreover, the dampening solution in the fountain solution reservoir 08 always has a preselectable constant temperature. By ultrasonic atomization, the liquid dampening solution in the fountain solution reservoir 08 is atomized in such a way that a fountain solution 12 formed by a water aerosol is formed. The water drops in the water aerosol should have a pressure gauge in the range of about 0.01 μm to 100 μm. Depending on the temperature of the dampening solution in the fountain solution reservoir 08 and the atomizing power of the ultrasonic atomizer 07, a desired relative humidity in the dampening agent mist 12 can be set. The temperature of the fountain solution mist 12 may be in the range of 32 ° C to 36 ° C, in particular in the range of 33 ° C to 35 ° C, for example, have a temperature of 34 ° C. By suitable cooling measures or insulation measures on the plate cylinder 01 is also ensured that the cylinder surface 04 has a lower temperature than the dampening agent mist 12. For example, a cylinder surface temperature of 30 ° C to 34 ° C, especially in the range of 31 ° C to 32 ° C would be advantageous.
Towards the outside of the dampening agent mist 12 is delimited in the dampening unit 06 by a box 13 from the ambient atmosphere. The box 13 is open on one side and is covered on the open side by the cylinder surface 04 of the plate cylinder 01. This ensures that the dampening agent mist 12 contained in the box 13 does not escape unintentionally into the ambient atmosphere, but effectively condenses on the cylinder surface 04 of the plate cylinder 01. At the top of the box 13, a pivotally mounted lid 14 is provided, so that the interior of the box 13 can be made accessible by opening the lid 14 for maintenance.
If the plate cylinder 01 rotates in the clockwise direction, the dampening unit 06, as shown in FIG. 1, is arranged on the right side of the plate cylinder 01. The dampening unit 06 is formed mirror-inverted relative to its center in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the plate cylinder 01, so that when the direction of rotation of the plate cylinder 01, the dampening unit 06 can be arranged on the left side of the plate cylinder 01. This is indicated by dashed lines in Fig. 1. During operation of the plate cylinder 01, the cylinder surface 04 sweeps the interior of the box 13 along the dampening agent mist 12. Due to the temperature difference between the dampening agent mist 12 and the cylinder surface 04, a certain part of the dampening solution mist 12 condenses on the cylinder surface 04 and settles as a dampening solution film. To reinforce this effect, the box 13 is formed in cross-section such that between the cylinder surface 04 and the inside of the box 13 directed in the direction of rotation of the plate cylinder 01 gap 16 is formed, which narrows continuously to the exit point 17 of the plate cylinder 01 from the box 13. By the narrowing of the gap 16, a compression nozzle is formed, so that the deposition of the dampening solution on the cylinder surface 04 is enhanced.
Directly at the exit point 17, the contact zone between the plate cylinder 01 and the inking roller 03 is also arranged, so that the dampening solution absorbed by the dampening unit 06 on the cylinder surface 04 is conveyed directly into the contact gap between the plate cylinder 01 and inking roller 03.
In Fig. 2 is a section of a printing unit 18 with two blanket cylinders 19; 21, the plate cylinder 01, the inking rollers 02; 03 and a paint transfer roller 22 shown schematically. The dampening unit 06 is mounted according to the arrangement in Fig. 1 on the right side of the plate cylinder 01. In the area between the blanket cylinder 21 and the dampening unit 06 or between the inking roller 02 and the blanket cylinder 21 are two covers 23; 24 attached, by which the cylinder surface 04 of the plate cylinder 01 is covered over the entire width of the plate cylinder 01 from the outside atmosphere. In the gap 26 between the cylinder surface 04 and the covers 23 and 24 results in the result thus an atmosphere which substantially corresponds to the conditions in the interior of the box 13. The distance between cover 23; 24 and cylinder surface 04 in the gap 26 is about 5 to 50 mm, in particular 10 mm. The effectiveness of dampening solution separation by condensation can be significantly increased.
In Fig. 3, a second embodiment of a dampening unit 27 for moistening the plate cylinder 01 is shown schematically. The function of the dampening unit 27 for atomizing the fountain solution of the humidifier 07 and the fountain solution 08 corresponds to that of the dampening 06. From the lower part of the box 13, in turn, a gap 16 is formed, which act through its increasing constriction as a compression nozzle during operation of the plate cylinder 01 in a clockwise direction can.
Unlike the dampening unit 06, a gap 28 is formed at the dampening unit 27 from the upper part of the box 13, which narrows increasingly from the inner of the box 13 to the upper exit point 17. An advantage of the dampening unit 27 is in particular that it does not have to be relocated even when reversing the direction of rotation of the plate cylinder 01. Depending on the direction of rotation of the plate cylinder 01, a compression nozzle is formed either from the gap 16 or from the gap 28. In the other gap 16 or 28, an expansion of the boundary layer on the cylinder surface 04 is effected at the inlet of the plate cylinder 01 into the interior of the box 13, so that even without strong Verwirblungseffekte the dampening agent 12 is approximated with high efficiency to the cylinder surface 04 to there to condense.
