Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a uniform water film on a plate cylinder, by generating ionized fine water particles from ionized water through an ultrasonic transmitter so as to make the polarity thereof opposite to that of a printing plate and adhering said ionized fine water particles to the printing plate. CONSTITUTION:Ionized water is prepared by using a water electrolytic apparatus and cationized water is poured in an ionized water tank 14 in such a case that a printing plate 11 is made of aluminum. Ionized fine water particles 16 are continuously generated from the ionized water by an ultrasonic wave generator 15 and injected from the slit of a slit duct 21 by a blower 17 through a duct 18 and a distributor 19 while the flow rate thereof is controlled by a flow rate control valve 23 to bond damping water to the printing plate 11. In the process before the ionized water is injected, all of metal parts are coated with plastic. This coating treatment prevents the neutralization of the ionized water. When the printing plate 11 composed of a polymer material is used, the fine particles of anionized water can be uniformly bonded to the printing plate 11.
