Abstract
L'invention concerne un ordinateur personnel (20) mesurant au moyen d'un capteur de luminosité (10) la luminosité atteinte lorsqu'un niveau de gradation d'affichage maximal est entré sur un écran à cristaux liquides (1) et réglant le rétroéclairage (5) de cet écran à cristaux liquides (1), de manière que la luminosité correspond à un seuil supérieur souhaité. Pendant la mesure de luminosité de l'écran à cristaux liquides (1), le niveau de gradation d'affichage est ajusté. Le niveau de gradation d'affichage atteint lorsque la luminosité correspond à un seuil inférieur souhaité est converti en un niveau de gradation d'affichage minimal. Les plages de valeurs maximale et minimale du niveau de gradation initial entré depuis un appareil hôte utilisant ledit écran à cristaux liquides (1) sont affectées à la plage de niveaux de gradation d'affichage maximal et minimal et une table de conversion de gradation (4) permettant de convertir le niveau de gradation initial en un niveau de gradation d'affichage est créée. Ainsi, les plages de valeurs maximale et minimale des niveaux initiaux entrées depuis l'appareil hôte peuvent être affichées avec le niveau de gradation entre les seuils de luminosité supérieur et inférieur souhaités, l'image s'étendant de la zone sombre à la zone brillante étant affichée à une luminosité facile à regarder.
