Abstract

The present invention pertains to the field of agriculture and biotechnology and essentially relates to a method for producing potato mini-tubers in the artificial climate of a cultivation apparatus (phytotron). The method involves placing and fixing the plants, artificially lighting them, adding a mineral nutritive solution to the root system of the plants and harvesting the crop. During the plant growth process, a temperature gradient of 2 to 16° C is created in the phytotron between the atmospheric stem area and the atmospheric root area. During the lighting period of the plant vegetation, the gradient is positive in the stem area while it is positive in the root area during the dark period. During the lighting period of the potato plant vegetation, the atmospheric stem area in the phytotron has a carbon dioxide content of between 0.04 and 0.3 %, while the atmospheric root area has a carbon dioxide content of between 0.04 and 0.19 %. This method substantially increase the process yield and reduces the exploitation costs.
