- the melting furnace is in this case intended for the melting of asbestos solid waste. It has a cylindrical wall 2 with an axis vertical 5 and a bottom 4 delimiting a melting tank. A portion of the wall contiguous to the bottom 4 is hollowed out and occupied by water boxes 6. Each water box has a rear metal base 8 of flat rectangular shape, higher than wide and wider than deep, the depth being measured according to the radial direction to the axis 5 of the wall 2. With reference to FIGS. 6 and 7, a pipe 10 in serpentine or baffled shape is formed in the thickness of the base 8. This pipe opens out at two orifices or ends 12 opposite along a diagonal from the rear face of the base. This duct 10 is intended to receive a cooling fluid such as water circulating in the direction indicated by the arrows, from the lower left orifice 12 to the upper right orifice 12. Inlet pipes and water outlet are connected to these ports.

- the upper 22 and lower 20 flanges bear against respectively upper and lower ends of the rear face of the box 6 by biasing the latter towards the interior of the tank, that is to say radially with respect to the axis 5 of the cylinder forming the wall 2 of the furnace.
- This support produces a vault effect, in a horizontal plane, of the boxes 6 against each other, the ends of the arc formed by the boxes pressing against the wall 2 as shown in Figure 1.
- This effect roof causes the flanges 20, 22 to maintain the boxes 6 in position by simple radial support thereon.

- the pins 54 keep the hand 50 coupled to the gripping member 40.
