Definitions
- the invention relates to a filter element for horizontal disc filters of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- Horizontal disc filters usually comprise a large number of stacked, disc-shaped filter elements, the filter surfaces of which are aligned horizontally.
- the precoating can take place from the inside, that is to say through a central inlet, or from the outside, that is to say from the interior of the filter container.
- a disc filter element for a horizontal disc filter which is suitable for forming a stack of filter elements on a central tube.
- This filter element comprises a hub and a bottom plate connected to it, which is circular in plan view. With the inner radius, the circular base plate is fastened to the outer circumference of the hub and near the outer circumferential edge an annular, pronounced bead is provided.
- the coarse-mesh support and drainage fabric ensures that the fine-mesh filter fabric maintains a certain distance from the floor panel, so that the passage of the liquid is guaranteed at all.
- the filtrate is discharged radially inward through the openings formed within the support and drainage fabric, that is to say toward the hub. Since the filter fabric at least partially loses its tension during the filter operation, from time to time a loosening of the tension ring and a re-tensioning of the filter fabric as well as a new fixation by means of the tension ring is necessary. In the event of wear on the filter fabric, this must be replaced completely.
- the filter elements of the known horizontal disc filters are therefore, in principle, constructive and technically complex components.
- the invention has for its object to provide a filter element for horizontal disc filters of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1, which is simpler in construction and much more wear resistant.
- the filter medium namely the thin filter plate and the base plate consist of a material combination which enables a material connection both on the inner and on the outer peripheral edge and at a multiplicity of points of contact of the filter plate with the base plate.
- the number of individual parts per filter element is reduced, as is the assembly effort while increasing the manufacturing quality.
- the drainage of the filtrate through the beads is also more favorable, since these form clearly defined channels, in contrast to a drainage fabric, which forms a higher flow resistance.
- filter aids and product particles that have penetrated through the filter medium can be removed with a gradient without resistance in the direction of the filtrate.
- the elements can be kept permanently clean, which ensures a stable and constant operating state. A contamination-related drift in the filtrate quality is avoided.
- the filter elements are set in rotation, the beads of the base plate of the element package acting as turbulators.
- the higher turbulence generated by the depressions in the base plate and thus increased shear force supports the cleaning effect.
- the filter plate is welded to the support surfaces of the base plate.
- a dimensionally stable sandwich construction is created, which due to the large number of connection points and the small distance between the connection points ensures extremely high stability of the construction and thus also withstands increased forces when backwashed. Inflation of the filter elements due to higher internal pressure is therefore avoided.
- both the filter plate and the base plate are made of stainless steel or a stainless steel alloy, so that the most favorable conditions exist for most applications with regard to the mechanical strength and the chemical resistance.
- the base plate and filter plate can also be made of plastic, preferably PVC, PE, PP or PVDF.
- the base plate consists of sheet metal, it is preferably an embossed or deep-drawn part, in which the depressions are designed as beads. These beads in the base plate bring about high dimensional stability, so that the base plate has a smaller thickness than conventional arrangements with the same shape stability.
- the thickness is preferably ⁇ 6 mm; thicknesses of about 1.5 mm are considered to be particularly suitable. Due to the reduced thickness, the material costs decrease and the weight of the filter element is significantly reduced. Due to the weight saving in this construction, the handling of the filter element during assembly and disassembly of the horizontal disc filter is made easier.

- first and second elevations of different lengths are provided, the first and second elevations being arranged alternately distributed over the circumference of the base plate are.
- the elevations each begin at the outer edge of the base plate and thus protrude at different distances in the direction of the hub. It is considered preferred that the length of the first elevations is approximately 3/4 to 4/5 of the outer radius of the annulus and the length of the second elevations is approximately 3/4 of the length of the first elevations.
- third bumps can also be provided, which are significantly shorter than the second bumps and each extend at a distance from the first and second bumps.
- the length of the third elevations can be approximately 1/6 of the length of the first elevations.

Description
