Definitions

  • the invention relates to a closure for closing and reclosing a bag, in particular a bag for holding foods, such as bread, confectionery and pasta, consisting of a strip of plastic material which can be placed around a gathered neck of the bag such that one end of the strip with the bag-side side overlaps the other end on the outside thereof and is fixed in this position, the closure being reclosable after opening, and when the strip is opened for the first time, such a structural change takes place on the strip that this opening process can be recognized.
  • the invention further relates to a bag which is provided with such a closure and a clip assembly for applying and closing such a closure.
  • closure fixation is achieved using an adhesive.
  • the structural change when opening for the first time consists of the fact that the strip, at least on the outside, consists of a brittle material which, when opened once, that is to say when the overlapping end is bent open, shows cracks, faults and the like, which can be recognized from the outside. These changes can also be seen when the closure is put back on.
  • Closures of this type also called closure clips, clips or clip strips, are pre-bent in a U-shaped manner via customary known clip assemblies, placed on the neck of the bag, and then the ends are pressed down overlapping one another.
  • the object is achieved in that the strip is made of a thermoplastic material, and that the overlapping end is welded to the underlying end in such a way that an externally visible weld is present, and that when it is opened for the first time in the lifted end an opening is created at the welding point.
  • thermoplastic plastic material opens up the possibility of closing the closure by means of a thermoplastic welding process. Due to the fact that the overlapping end is welded to the end located below, a particularly firmly adhering closure is created by the manufacturer, which is durable in the long run and is not subject to any aging processes as in the case of the adhesive mentioned at the outset. In addition, the unwanted opening by the welding point is also opposed to considerable resistance. The unwanted first opening often takes place at the sales stands, in places that are generally easily accessible and visible. A targeted grasp and a strong jerk is necessary to open the closure. This requires some attention so that the operator cannot observe the surroundings at the same time as to whether a third person is watching this unauthorized opening process.
  • the welding therefore serves several purposes, on the one hand to make the closure strong and durable, and on the other hand to create a clear identifier for opening for the first time.
  • the welding point is a spot welding point, which results from a welding stamp applied radially from the outside, and the material of the overlapping end is partially pushed through the strip and welded to the outside of the underlying end.
  • the spot welding parts can be accomplished by means of a cylindrical, contoured or somehow configured welding stamp, as is usual in this field.
  • the contour can be circular, oval, slit-shaped or multi-digit.
  • At least one tongue which can be bent out of the plane of the strip is stamped into the strip and can be hooked into an opening in the strip when it is closed again.
  • This measure has the advantage that the reclosure can take place mechanically, namely by hooking the tongue into a corresponding opening in the strip. An opening and a tongue can be easily punched or punched into such a strip using conventional equipment.
  • the tongue can be hooked into the opening created when it was opened for the first time.
  • an elongated hole opening is provided in the strip in one end region, through which the other end, which is folded inwards on both sides, can be inserted.
  • This measure has the advantage that the reclosing can also be carried out by means that are simple to achieve mechanically.
  • One end is folded inwards on both sides, creating a strip-shaped end section, the surface of which is rotated by approximately 90 ° to the remaining strip surface in which the elongated hole opening is located.
  • the folded end can now be inserted through this elongated hole and, due to the elasticity of the material, opens again in a V-shape and thus prevents it from being pulled off due to the pressure which the gathered neck of the bag exerts in the direction of expansion.
  • the closure around the neck of the bag can be tightened by pulling on the end when reclosing.
  • the end which has in the meantime been slightly spread, is compressed again and can then be pulled out of the slot opening.
  • the strip has a longitudinal groove in the middle at least on one side, about which an end region of the strip can be folded laterally inwards.
  • This measure has the considerable advantage that the aforementioned folding process takes place easily, exactly in the middle and along the longitudinal groove, so that no special attention needs to be paid to folding.
  • the strip is provided with knurling along its outer longitudinal edges.
  • This measure now has the advantage that, due to the knurling, the edges have a rough, wavy structure which inhibits and blocks the pulling off of a folded end section inserted through the slot opening mentioned above. As a result, the closure is held mechanically particularly securely after reclosing due to the knurling.
  • the strip is provided with a pressure sensitive adhesive on at least one side.
  • This measure has the advantage that the resealing is accomplished via the pressure sensitive adhesive, as is known per se.
  • the strip can then remain adhering to the neck after the bent ends have been bent open, which also makes handling easier.
  • a welding stamp is provided as an additional device, which can be moved radially to the closed clip strip at its overlapping end.
  • This measure has the advantage that the invention can be carried out on conventional clip units for processing conventional clips by means of structurally simple measures, namely by means of an additional device.
