Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for twisting binding wire with an axially displaceable twisting head on a wire binding machine for binding a bundle, in particular a stack, package or bundle of shaped steel in a rolling mill, the continuing of the twisting head. From this end, the binding wire supplied is laid around the bundle, returned to it and tightened, the two end sections of the binding wire being crossed in the drilling head and the front end of the binding wire being clamped in the drilling head.
- a knot closure is the twisting of the wire ends of a binding wire placed around the bundle.
- a device for twisting binding wire for a wire binding machine with an axially displaceable twisting head, a clamping device and a cutting bushing is known.
- the twisting of the binding wire is carried out with a twisting head with intersecting bores and grooves for guiding the binding wire.
- the twisting head is displaced axially in the direction of the binding material and forms the twisting.
- load the drill head moves back into the starting position, the wire ends being pulled out of the drill head.
- the "twistable wire length" which is different depending on the geometry of the binding material, is twisted and is present in front of the drilling head until the binding material is completely tightened.
- the invention is based on the object of a method and a device for twisting binding wire with an axially displaceable twisting head on a wire binding machine for binding a bundle, in particular a stack, package or bundle of shaped steel in a rolling mill, the head continuously fed binding wire from this around the bundle, returned to this and tightened and thereby the two end sections of the binding wire are crossed in the drill head and the front end of the binding wire is clamped in the drill head to create what Even with frequently changing forms of the bundle, constant, short and tight twisting is achieved without changing the machine parameters.
- the object is achieved in that, independently of the shape of the bundle, the drill head is brought into an identical starting position with respect to the bundle and is moved by the latter with a predetermined number of rotations in order to twist the crossed end sections of the binding wire in the axial direction, the front end of the binding wire released and its rear end from the continuous
- Binding wire is separated and the free end sections are further twisted and then the twisting head is axially displaced in the opposite direction to its starting position to the bundle, the untwisted ends of the binding wire being pressed laterally with a pressing element in the direction of the bundle the twist is applied.
- the number of revolutions of the twisting head for twisting the binding wire is preferably entered into a rotary encoder as a setpoint and is controlled and monitored by the latter.
- the crossed end sections of the binding wire are connected to form a self-locking twist and then the front end of the binding wire is released and its rear end is cut off.
- the untwisted ends of the binding wire are applied to the twist by means of a pressure sleeve connected to the twisting head on its side facing the bundle and displaceable in the axial direction by the Pushing the pressure sleeve axially beyond the starting position of the drill head towards the bundle in the direction of the bundle over the twist and the untwisted ends, the pressure sleeve being pulled back axially in the direction of the drill head after the untwisted ends have been applied until it has reached its starting position and the twist is released.
- the solution according to the invention ensures that a defined distance between the drill head and the bundle and a defined release of the end sections of the binding wire are mainly used to form a "drill knot", a short “drill knot” with relatively short protruding ends is achieved and thus not only the “twistable length” available in front of the twisting head and deliberately kept short is used up, but also, apart from the very short ends still present, which are still to be applied to the twisting which are in the twisting head and its End sections existing intersecting guideways are used.
- a “twist knot” is understood here to mean the twisting of the binding wire.
- the invention comprises a device, the bundle resting against a spacer supported on a housing, the drill head being arranged in a predetermined starting position with respect to the bundle, and rotatable about its longitudinal axis by the latter for twisting the binding wire into one , a larger distance from the bundle, the end position is axially displaceable, the drill head being assigned a drill drive provided with a rotary encoder with sensor and the drill head being equipped with a cutting device device for the continuous binding wire and a clamping device for the front end of the binding wire is connected and wherein a pressing element for placing the untwisted ends of the binding wire on the twist in the direction of the bundle is arranged on the twisting head.
- twisting head is arranged on the side facing the bundle on a twisting shaft which is connected via a gear stage to the rotary drive provided with a rotary encoder with a sensor and at the one in the area of its rear end Drive is arranged, which moves the drill head in the region of its starting and end positions in both directions via the drilling shaft.
- the pressure element is designed as a cylindrical pressure sleeve, the pressure sleeve being arranged to be axially movable in the drilling head and being displaceable toward the bundle via its starting position.
