明 細 書
潤滑油組成物
発明の技術分野
本発明は新規な潤滑油組成物、 さらに詳しくは、 高耐熱性、 高酸化安定性及び 低摩擦性を有し、 内燃機関、 自動変速機、 緩衝器、 パワーステアリ ングなどの潤 滑油、 特に内燃機関用潤滑油として好適に用いられる潤滑油組成物に関するもの である。
背景技術
従来、 内燃機関や、 自動変速機、 緩衝器、 パワーステアリ ングなどの駆動系機 器、 ギヤなどには、 その作動を円滑にするために潤滑油が用いられている。 特に 内燃機関用潤滑油 (エンジン油) は、 主としてピストンリングとシリンダライナ 一、 クランク軸や連接棒 (コネクティ ングロッ ド) の軸受、 カムとバルブリフタ 一を含む動弁機構など、 各種摺動部分の潤滑のほか、 エンジン内の冷却や燃焼生 成物の清浄分散、 さらには鲭ゃ腐食を防止するなどの作用を果たす。
このように、 内燃機関用潤滑油には多様な性能が要求され、 しかも近年、 内燃 機関の高性能化、 高出力化、 運転条件の過酷化などに伴い、 高度な性能が要求さ れてきている。 したがって、 該内燃機関用潤滑油には、 このような要求性能を満 たすために、 例えば摩耗防止剤、 金属清浄剤、 無灰分散剤、 酸化防止剤などの種 々の添加剤が配合されている。
内燃機関用潤滑油の基本的機能として、 特にあらゆる条件下で機関を円滑に作 用させ、 摩耗、 焼付き防止を行うことが重要である。 エンジン潤滑部は、 大部分 が流体潤滑状態にあるが、 動弁系やビス トンの上下死点などでは境界潤滑状態と なりやすく、 このような境界潤滑下における摩耗防止性は、 一般にジチォりん酸 亜鉛 (Z n D T P ) やジチォカルバミ ン酸亜鉛 (Z n D T C ) の添加によって付 与されている。
ところで、 内燃機関では、 潤滑油が関与する摩擦部分でのエネルギー損失が大 きいために、 摩擦損失低減や燃費低減対策として、 摩擦調整剤 (F M: フリクシ ヨンモディファイヤー) を初め、 各種の添加剤を組み合わせた潤滑油が使用され ている (例えば特公平 3-23595号公報) 。 自動車の内燃機関用潤滑油は、 各種の 油温度、 回転数、 負荷で運転されており、 したがって、 さらに燃費を向上させる ためには、 広範囲の使用条件下での摩擦特性に優れる必要がある。
さらに、 内燃機関用潤滑油に要求される性能としては、 前記したもの以外に、 高耐熱性、 高酸化安定性、 適度な粘度特性などが挙げられる。
発明の概要
1. 発明の開示
本発明は、 このような事情のもとで、 優れた低摩擦性を有するとともに、 高耐 熱性、 高酸化安定性及び適度の粘度特性を有し、 特に内燃機関用潤滑油として好 適な潤滑油組成物を提供することを目的としてなされたものである。
2. 課題を解決するための手段
本発明者らは、 前記の好ましい特性を有する潤滑油組成物を開発すべく鋭意研 究を重ねた結果、 芳香族成分の含有量が少ない特定の性状の潤滑油基油に対し、 特定のァミ ン系酸化防止剤と、 硫化ォキシモリブデンジチォカルバメート (Mo DTC) や硫化ォキシモリブデンオルガノホスホロジチォエート (MoDTP) とを、 所定の割合で含有させた組成物により、 その目的を達成しうることを見い 出し、 この知見に基づいて本発明を完成するに至った。
すなわち、 本発明は、 (A) 芳香族成分が 3.0重量%以下、 硫黄分が 50重量 ppiD 以下、 窒素分が 50重量 ppm以下であり、 かつ温度 10CTCにおける粘度が 2.0〜50.0 腿2 Zsである潤滑油基油に対して、 組成物全重量に基づき (B) —般式、

本発明の潤滑油組成物は、 高耐熱性、 高酸化安定性及び低摩擦性を'有し、 内燃 機関、 自動変速機、 緩衝器、 パワーステアリ ングなどの潤滑油、 特に内燃機関用 潤滑油として好適に用いられる。

実施態様の詳細な説明
以下、 本発明を詳細に説明する。
本発明の潤滑油組成物においては、 (A ) 成分の潤滑油基油として、 芳香族成 分が 3. 0重量%以下、 硫黄分が 50重量 ppm以下、 窒素分が 50重量 ppiD以下であり、 かつ温度 100。Cにおける粘度が 2. 0〜50. 0腿2 Zsの範囲にあるものが用いられる。 該芳香族成分の含有量が 3. 0重量%を超えると得られる潤滑油組成物の耐熱性、 酸化安定性、 摩擦特性が低下する。 また、 粘度が 2. 0腿2/ s未満のものでは油膜 形成が十分ではなく、 さらに蒸発減量が多いという不都合があるし、 50. 0腿2/ s を超えると粘性抵抗による動力損失が大きすぎるので好ましくない。 さらに硫黄 分や窒素分が 50重量 ppmを超えると酸化安定性及び摩擦特性が低下する。
該潤滑油基油は、 前記の性状を有するものであれば、 鉱油や合成油を問わず様 々なものを使用することができるが、 特に水素化分解油及びヮックス異性化油が 好適である。
本発明組成物においては、 (B ) 成分のァミ ン系酸化防止剤として、 一般式、

で表されるフエ二ルー α—ナフチルアミ ン類の中から選ばれた少なく とも 1種が 用いられる。
前記一般式 [1] において、 I 1、 R2、 R3及び R4はそれぞれ水素原子又は炭 素数が 3〜: 18のアルキル基である。 また、 R R2、 R3及び R4はたがいに同一 であってもよいし、 異なっていてもよいが、 その中の少なく とも 1つは炭素数 3 〜18のアルキル基であることが必要である。 該炭素数 3〜: 18のアルキル基は直鎖 状、 分枝鎖状、 環状のいずれであってもよく、 このようなものとしては、 例えば 各種プロピル基、 各種ブチル基、 各種アミル基、 各種へキシル基、 各種へプチル 基、 各種ォクチル基、 各種ノニル基、 各種デシル基、 各種ゥンデシル基、 各種ド デシル基、 各種トリデシル基、 各種テトラデシル基、 各種ペン夕デシル基、 各種 へキサデシル基、 各種へプタデシル基、 各種ォクタデシル基、 さらにはシクロへ キシル基、 シクロォクチル基、 シクロ ドデシル基などが挙げられる。
また、 前記一般式 [2] において、 Rは水素原子又は炭素数 3〜18のアルキル 基である。 該炭素数 3~18のアルキル基は直鎖状、 分枝鎖状、 環状のいずれであ つてもよく、 このようなものとしては、 例えば前記一般式 [1] における
Ri R 4の説明において例示したものと同じものを挙げることができる。
本発明組成物においては、 該 (B) 成分のアミ ン系酸化防止剤として、 前記一 般式 [1] で表されるアルキルジフエニルァミ ン類を 1種用いてもよいし、 2種 以上を組み合わせて用いてもよく、 また、 前記一般式 [2] で表されるフエニル 一 な一ナフチルアミ ン類を 1種用いてもよいし、 2種以上を組み合わせて用いて もよい。 さらには、 該一般式 [1] で表されるアルキルジフヱニルァミ ン類 1種 以上と一般式 [2] で表されるフヱニルー 一ナフチルアミ ン類 1種以上とを組 み合わせて用いてもよい。
本発明においては、 前記 (B) 成分のアミ ン系酸化防止剤は、 組成物全重量に 基づき 0.05〜2,0重量%、 好ましくは 0.2〜1.2重量%の範囲で配合することが必 要である。 この量が 0.05重量%未満では十分な酸化安定性が得られないし、 2.0 重量%を超えるとその量の割には効果の向上がみられない。 本発明組成物にお いては、 (C) 成分の摩擦調整剤として、 一般式、

で表される硫化ォキシモリブデンオルガノホスホロジチォエー ト (M 0 D T P) の中から選ばれた少なく とも 1種が用いられる。
前記一般式 [3] において、 R5及び R6はそれぞれ炭素数 8〜23の炭化水素基 であり、 それらはたがいに同一であってもよいし、 異なっていてもよい。 該炭素 数 8〜23の炭化水素基として 、 炭素数 8 ~23の直鎖状若しく は分枝鎖状のアル キル基又はアルケニル基、 炭素数 8〜23のシクロアルキル基、 ァリール基、 アル キルァリール基又はァリールアルキル基などか挙げられる。 このようなものの具 体例としては 2—ェチルへキシル基、 n—才クチル基、 ノニル基、 デシル基、 ラ ゥリル基、 トリデシル基、 パルミチル基、 ステアリル基、 ォレイル基、 エイコシ ル基、 プチルフヱニル基、 ノニルフヱニル基などが挙げられる。 また、 m及び n は、 それぞれそれらの和が 4となるような正の整数である。
—方、 前記一般式 [4] において、 R7及び R8はそれぞれ炭素数 3〜18の炭化 水素基であり、 それらはたがいに同一であってもよいし、 異なっていてもよい。 該炭素数 3〜18の炭化水素基としては、 炭素数 3〜18の直鎖状若しくは分枝鎖状 のアルキル基又はアルケニル基、 炭素数 6〜18のシクロアルキル基、 炭素数 6〜 18のァリール基、 炭素数?〜 18のアルキルァリ一ル基又はァリールアルキル基な どが挙げられる。 このようなものの具体例としてはイソプロピル基、 n —プロピ ル基、 n —ブチル基、 イソブチル基、 s e c—ブチル基、 アミル基、 へキシル基、 シクロへキシル基、 2—ェチルへキシル基、 n—才クチル基、 ノニル基、 デシル 基、 ラウリル基、 トリデシル基、 パルミチル基、 ステアリル基、 ォレイル基、 ブ チルフエニル基、 ノニルフエニル基などが挙げられる。 また、 X及び yはそれぞ れそれらの和が 4となるような正の整数である。
本発明組成物においては、 前記一般式 [ 3 ] で表される M o D T Cは 1種用い てもよいし、 2種以上を組み合わせてもよく、 また前記一般式 [ 4 ] で表される M o D T Pは 1種用いてもよいし、 2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
本発明組成物においては、 該 (C ) 成分の摩擦調整剤は、 組成物全重量に基づ きモリブデン量として 50〜2000重量 ppm、 好ましくは 100〜1000重量 ppmの範囲で 配合することが必要である。 モリブデン量が 50重量 ppm未満では十分な低摩擦性 が得られないし、 2000重量 ppmを超えるとその量の割には摩擦特性の向上効果が みられない。
本発明の潤滑油組成物には、 本発明の目的が損なわれない範囲で、 従来潤滑油 に慣用されている各種添加剤、 例えば金属清浄剤、 無灰清浄分散剤、 摩耗防止剤、 粘度指数向上剤、 流動点降下剤、 防鳍剤、 腐食防止剤、 消泡剤、 他の酸化防止剤 などを適宜添加することができる。
金属清浄剤としては、 例えばカルシウムスルホネート、 マグネシウムスルホネ ート、 パ、リウムスルホネート、 カルシウムフヱネート、 バリウムフエネートなど が挙げられ、 これらは、 通常 0. 1〜5重量%の割合で使用される。 無灰清浄分散 剤としては、 例えばこはく酸ィ ミ ド系、 こはく酸アミ ド系、 ベンジルアミ ン系ゃ そのホウ素誘導体、 エステル系のものなどが挙げられ、 これらは、 通常 0. 5〜 7 重量%の割合で使用される。
摩耗防止剤としては、 例えばチォりん酸金属塩(Z n、 P b、 S b、 M oなど)、 チォカルバミ ン酸金属塩 (Z nなど) 、 硫黄化合物、 りん酸エステル、 亜りん酸 エステルなどを挙げることができ、 これらは、 通常 0. 05〜5. 0重量%の割合で使 用 れる 0
粘度指数向上剤としては、 例えばポリメタクリレート系、 ポリィソプチレン系、 エチレン一プロピレン共重合体系、 スチレン一ブタジエン水添共重合体系などが 挙げられ、 これらは、 通常 0. 5〜35重量%の割合で使用される。
防鳍剤としては、 例えばアルケニルこはく酸やその部分エステルなどが、 腐食 防止剤としては、 例えばべンゾトリアゾールやべンゾイ ミダゾールなどが、 消泡 剤としては、 例えばジメチルポリシロキサンやポリアクリレートなどが挙げられ、 これらは適宜添加することができる。
実施例
次に実施例により本発明をさらに詳細に説明するが、 本発明はこれらの例によ つてなんら限定されるものではない。
なお、 潤滑油組成物の酸化誘導時間、 摩擦係数は次のようにして求めた。
( 1 ) 酸化誘導時間 (分)
示差熱分析法により、 酸素雰囲気下、 20kgf/cm2、 200°Cの等温保持条件で求 めた。
( 2 ) 摩擦係数 )
図 1に示す L F W— 1試験機により、 回転数 270rpm、 荷重 30kgf、 油温 120で、 時間 10分の条件で、 Fal ex社製 R型ブロック (鉄製) 及び Fal ex社製 S— 10テ ストリング (鉄製) を用いて、 L F W— 1摩擦試験を行った。 図 1中、 1は S— 10テストリ ングであり、 2は R型ブロックであり、 3は歪み計である。
R型ブロックに荷重をかけ、 リングを回転するときに生じる抵抗を歪み計で 検出し、 摩擦係数を算出する。 なお、 試験油はリングの半分程度まで浸って いる。
実施例 1〜 7、 比較例 1〜 6
第 1表に示す性状の基油を用い、 第 2表に示す組成の潤滑油組成物を調製し、 酸化誘導時間 (分) 及び摩擦係数 (/ を求めた。 その結果を第 2表に示す。 油 100°C粘度 芳香族分 硫 黄 分 ¾
