Abstract

Un eje motor plegable y un método para su fabricación. El eje motor plegable incluye una pieza tubular que tiene porciones primera y segunda que se forman íntegramente como una pieza de único miembro. La primera porción tiene estrías sobre su superficie externa. La segunda porción, -opuesta- tiene tanto diámetro externo como interno, ambos mayores que el diámetro externo de la primera porción. El método incluye la colocación de una pieza tosca tubular en una matriz de hidroformación que tiene una cavidad de matriz y expandir la pieza tosca mediante presurización del interior de la pieza tosca con fluído de hidroformación.
