DESIGN FOR A NECKLACE.
Specification {orming part of Design No. 9,886, dated A ril .3, 1877; application filed March 13, 1877. [Term of Patent 3} years] 1'0 all whom it may concern: 7
Be it known that I, GEORGE F. GLEASON, of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a. new and original Design for a Necklace, of which the fol lowing is a specification The nature of my invention is fully represented in the accompanying illustration, to which reference is made.
The design refers to a necklace, bracelet, or similar article of jewelry; and consists of a. necklace with ornamented oblong links, alternnting with polished rounded-off links or rings having central spurs.
' A in the drawing represents the oblong link, and B the alternating rounded-0E link or ring of a necklace or other article.
The oblong link A is made solid with stippled ground of dull color, and with a. raised rim, a, and raised central ornament, b, whose surfaces are brightly polished. The alterneting link B is of ring shape, and brightly polished, and covered at the sides by the links A, so that only the nroshaped top and bottom parts are visible. At the centerot' the arcshaped portions are spurs d, that impart a more characteristic appearance to the connecting-linksB. The lighter form of the connecting-rings relieves the heavy and solid appearance of the oblong links, and furnishes a. necklace of elegant and rich design.
I claim as my invention- The design for a necklace or other article of jewelry, composed of oblong solid links having stippled ground. and raised polished rim. and ornamention. and of alternating polished rings with center-spurs, snbstnntiallyns shown GEORGE F. GLEASUN.
