Be it known that I, SYLYESTI'IR K. Min:- RILL, of Auburn, in the eountyof Providence and State of I-lhode Island, have invented a new and useful Design for Gem-Settings; and I do hereby declare that the following specification, taken in connection with the accompapanying drawings, forming a part of the same, is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
This design consists in a gem-setting the face of which is oircularin outliueor contour. and has a central opening for reeeivinga hriiliant or other stone, whieh opening is surrounded by a beveled border having its inner edge notched or serrated, will hereinafter appear.
This design for a genrsetting is particularly adapted for articles of jewelry, sueh as sear!- pins, ear-drops, studs, &e.
In the drawings, Figure 1 illustrates a view of the settin". Fig. 2 shows the same with a hrilliant set in place. Fig. 3 shows a side view and partial section of the setting.
As shown in the several figures, the face of the setting is circular in contour or outline, and is provided with a central opening, a. This opening is surrounded by a heveled horder, 7;, the outer edge of which joins the side a ol't he setting. The inner edgedmt'the horder Z) is notched or serrated, as clearly shown in Fig. 1.
