DESIGN FOR COOKING-RANGES.

Specification forming part of Design No. 8,863, dated December 2l, 1875; application led December 15, 1875.

To all whom 'it may concern Be it known that we, GEORGE A. WELLS and EDMUND J. GRIDGE, both of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original ornamental Design for Cooking-Ranges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyin g cut, print, or engraving of a cooking-range having our Said new design.

Our design for the doors and panels, or either of them, consists of the outer beveled surface A immediately outside of the narrow at band B, which is directly outside of the Grecian ornamentation D, within which latter' is the tablet C, the whole being arranged together in general rectangular form, and substantially as represented in the aforesaid cut.

Our design for the front of the upper section, irrespective of the doors thereon, consists of the end pilasters E, each having the h Grecian ornamentation f thereon, and the concave cornice-molding G having the row of ornamental forms lL along its inner edge, the whole being shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.

The design for the front of the end standards of the upper section consists of the upper concave part I, having the longitudinal tintes j therein, the lower reversely-curved portion K having the longitudinal utingl thereon, and the middle portion M having the Grecian ornamentation, u thereon, and its lower part inclined, and the upper part reversely curved, and the whole shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the aforesaid engraving.

The design for the hearth consists of the beveled-rim O, having a bead, p, along its upper edge, and the fiat surface Q having` the compound tendril ornaments r in the middle, and s s at the ends of its outer portion, all shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.

What We claim as our invention and production isl. The design for the doors or panels, consisting of the parts A, B, D, and C, shaped and arranged together as set forth.

2. The design for the front of the upper section, consisting of the parts E f and G h, shaped and arranged together as described.

3. The design for the front of the end standards of the upper section, consisting of the parts I j, K' l, and M n, all shaped and arranged together as Specified.

4. The design for the hearth, consisting of the parts O p and Q r and s, all shaped and arranged together as'described.
