Specification forming pirt of Design No. 8,3 ll, dated May 4, 1875; application filed April 17, 1875. [Term of Patent? years] To all whom it may concern:
- a certain new and original Design for Box, of
which the following is a specification:
This invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 represents a side view. Fig. 2 is a cross-section.
Similar letters indicate corresponding parts.
My invention consists in the design of a box, the sides of which are parallel, and form a quadrangle, which has a semi-cylindrical top and a flat bottom, two of the sides formin g a cont-intuition ot' the semi-cylindrical top, and together with the top, are ornamented with a series of bands, whereby I obtain a box presenting a very neat and distinguishing ap pea-rance.
In the drawing, the letters A A B B designete the sides of my box, made parallel to each other, and which form a quadrangle, in
the direction of the length of the box. D designates the fiat bottom, and G the semi-cylindrical top, of my box. The two opposite sides A A form a continuation of the semicylindrical top 0, and over these sides, as well as over the top, extend ornamental hands a a b b and c c. The direction of the bands a a b I) is parallel, while that of o c is at right angles to the bands I) b. The outer bands a a have ornamental edges a" a, in the form of alternate convex and concavities, divided by points, as shown. The inner bands b b, as well as c c, are ornamented with a series of circular heads, I) b c 0', formed on their extended surfaces.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a box having the parallel sides A A B B, forming a quadrangle, having the flat bottom D, semi-cy1indrical top 0, and the ornamental bands a a b b c c, substantially as shown and described.
