To all "whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALFRED HEALD, of' Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a Design for a Carpet-Pattern, of which the following is a speeiiien-tion:
The figure in the accompanying drawing Shows snieent of a earpet-pnttern to {lill}v illustrate 1n y design, the remainder bein g merely a repetition of that which appears.
A band or ribbon, A, extends throughout the entire pattern, and is curved and bent at various angles, as shown, so to form borders for the ornamental figures B, (1,1), and E. The ligure B is lfhe largest of the series, and has an ornamental outline, partly straight and partly curved, and en elaborate internal foliated ornament, e. The ligure C is oetagonal, and has a central ornament, b. The oblong figure D has a central folated ornament, e. The :figure or medallion E is circular, or nearly eirenlar, in outline, and has a central ornament, e. The space between the several figures is elaborately ornninented by a wreath, f, eemposed of flowers, leaves, and stems, arrange-(l as shown.
Irrespeetive of theeolors employed, l claim- 1. The design for the figure B, with its eentrnl ornament n, as shown and described.
2. The design for the whole pattern, includ ing the bend or ribbon A, the tignres B, G, D, and E, and the intervening space with its wreathf, all as described, and as represented in and by the accompanying drawing.
