DESlGN FOR CUPBOARD-LATCH.

Specification forming part of Design No. 5,345, dated October 31, 1871.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, VVILLIAM E. SPARKS, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Cupboard-Latch; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this speeifiea tion and represents a perspective view.

This invention relates to a design for cupboardlateh; and consists in the configuration of the base, as shown in the accompanying illustration, and hereinafter described.

The base or plate is flat with a raised edge to form a panel-surface, and from this plate the ease rises, contracting toward the top, the sides fluted and the top paneled, as shown, the surface of the plate and case matted or otherwise finished. The keeper is correspondingly formed and ornamented 5 but as the latch is often used Without a keeper, I do not confine myself to the combination of the two.

In this class of bolts the barrel is in some cases beneath the plate.

I do not confine myself to the barrel as a part of my design.

I claim as my invention- The design for the base or plate of cupboardlatehes, as shown and described, and with or without the keeper.
