GEORGE MUNSON, PURMORT BRADFORD, AND CHARLES H. BRADFORD, OF NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNORS TO SARGENT & CO., OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR DOOR-HANDLE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,405, dated December 5, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that We, GEORGE MUNsoN, PUR- MORT BRADFORD, and CHARLES {1.BRADFORD, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Door-Handle; and We do hereby declare the following, when taken in eonnectionwith the accompanying drawing and the letters of refer ence marked thereon, to he a full, clear, and exact description ofthe saine, and Which said drawing1 constitutes part of this specification and represents, in-
Figure l, a perspective view of the handle; Fig. 2, the latch; Fig. 3, the lever-guard; Fig.4, the latolrguard 5 and in Fig. 5, the keeper.
This invention relates to a design for that class of door-handles in which the latch is operated by a lever passing' from the handle through the door; and the invention consists in the design of the several parts, as shown in the accompanying illustration7 Whether used separately or collectively.
A is the handle proper, the form or configura tion of which is fully shown, and may be applied to the door or upon the base B, the form or con figuration of which is also fully shown. C is the latch pivoted to the plate D, Fig. 3, the guard plate of which is placed upon the latch side of the door over the lever. Fig. 4 is the latch-guard placed on the edge of the door, thelateh passing through it; and Fig. 5 is the catch or keeper. The surface oi' all the parts is paneled with a plain edge, the remainder of the surface mat ted or otherwise finished.
As the handle may be used Without the plate or base and the other part-s used with other handles, We do not confine our design to the combined parts; hut
