DESIGN FOR DOOR-BOLTS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 7.631, dated August 11, 1874; application filed July 29, 1874. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all 'whom it may concern:
Bc it known that I, AUGUST W. HIRSCH- FELD, of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Door-Bolt; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specitication, and represent a perspective view.
This invention relates to a design for the case for door-bolts; and consists in the configuration and ori'ialnentation, as shown in the accompanying illustration, and hereinafter described.
Tlie base or plate of the bolt has projecting ears near each end, of semicircular form, by means of which the bolt is secured. Between the ears the edge of the plate is scalloped at each end. The barrel of the case upon its face presents a quadrangle, and between these two ends the barrel is slightly diminished in size, its sides parallel, thus giving a prominence to the two ends. The face of the case is ornamented by a panel produced by a raised-edge, the panel on the two ends and between filled with tracery, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
I claim- The design for door-bolts, consisting of the barrel formed with a quadrangle at each end, and narrower between the two ends upon a base, and ornamented, as shown in the acconipanying illustration and herein described.
