EBERHARD FLUES, OF FORT WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA.
Design No. 3,987, dated April 26, 1870.
DESIGN FOR A SHAWL-MANTLE.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EBERHARD Frame, of Fort Washington, in the county of Montgomery and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Ladies Outer Garments, which 1 style La Romaine. The following is a specification of the same.
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing to which reference is made, and in which- Figure 1 represents a View from the exterior of the garment as spread or flattened out, and
Figures 2 and 3, views of detached portions used, making up the design.
The garment which is the subject of this design is intended to be worn, like a mantle, over the shoulders of the person.
It is composed of two pieces, A A, having two parallel edges, 3) c, and one of their ends at right angles to said edges, but their other end cut sloping, as at a.
The sloping ends a of the two pieces are then sewn together, forming a seam up the back when applied to the person, and the bottom and end-edges may he fringed or ornamented.
A collar, made up of sections B B, of the configuration shown in figs. 1 and 3, is applied to the neckportion of the garment, as represented, and the garment provided with cords or other fastenings to sccure it around the neck of the wearer.
I claim the design for a ladys outer garment, as
shown.
EBERHARD FLUES.
