DESIGN FOR A GLASS VESSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,323, dated November 26, 1901.
Application filed October 1,1901. Serial lilo. 77,254. Term of patent 7 years.
T0 to "whom it may concern.-
Be it known that LHERMAN RICHMAN,a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Richmond, city of New York, in the county of Richmond and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and originalDesign for a Glass Vessel; and] do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a glass vessel; and it consists in the general configuration and arrangement of the ornamental features shown in the accompany-- ing drawings and hereinafter described.
In the drawings, Figure l is a top plan View of a bowl bearing the decorative design on its outer surface, and Figs. 2 and 3 are side elevations of the same.
The design consists generally in a series or clusters of elongated spear-shaped points, the points of each cluster being arranged to radiate from a common center in an upward and outward direction. The clusters are spaced an equal distance apart, and from the lowermost portions thereof droop a series of curved lines or representations, which extend from one cluster to another and in opposite directions, so that the clusters of the points are represented as being connected by drooping or curved banner effects. The field between the lowermost curved representations is checkered, while the triangular field directly below the clusters is fancifully decorated. The lowermost portion of the bowl has a series of straight lines arranged to represent a square when the bowl is viewed from above, as in Fig. 1. Between the various clusters of pointed representations are fanciful starshaped designs occupying a large portion of the space or field between the points, while a similar representation, but of larger proportion, is placed on the bottom of the bowl Within the square.
The essential features of the design consist in the clusters of pointed representations connected by the curved banner effects and the star-shaped representations between the clusters.
While the design is shown as applied to a bowl and is intended largely for cut glassware, it is to be understood that the same may be applied to other vessels.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, and desired to be secured by design Letters Patent, is
The design for a glass vessel substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have affixed my sig* nature in presence of two witnesses.
HERMAN RIOHMAN.
